ysss, your a smart troll. Consider:

Code:
power=a*capacitance*frequency*voltage^2
As power is a function of the square of the voltage, power usage is has an exponential relationship with the voltage used.

Consider this graph:

It can be read from this graph that the best voltage/frequency trade off is 600MHz as:

The V differance between 250-600 is the same as 600-700. The 600-700 voltage increase is the first significant increase therefore if one was attempting to use the greatest frequency with the least increase in power usage they would limit the maximum speed to 600MHz.

Further to this you may notice that there is little difference between 250-500 compared to 500-600. This would suggest that you would want the CPU to be operating in the 250-500MHz region, 'dipping' into the 600 when it needed to.

To achieve this one would remove ALL available frequencies except 0, 250, 500 and 600MHz then set the up threshold to something reasonably high.

This combined with smart reflex is how this extra battery life is achieved. The reason it is so revolutionary is because of the 'technical level' of the participants of the thread who have not arrived at this undervolt/extend battery life conclusion.

There is no logic here as logic implies there was a rational process of factual reduction that lead to this conclusion.

i'm not smart enough to understand any of the things you have posted vi_
but i'm smart enough to tell that powersave_bias does effect the battery life
that is all what i can say at the moment

PS: i wish not another smart epitaph

I have the feeling you are not gonna convince everyone that Karam is part-wrong due to the "technical level" of the participants here.

For what I have seen, placebo or not, my phone "seems" to be "better". Maybe it could have also been if I have done some tweak manually, but it seems to have "improved" at least.

But I'm also rising question about trying a fresh reflash with smart reflex and the vfs change.

I think people that are claiming huge battery improvement should post pictures of BatteryGraph to see their phone activities. This would convince me more than an affirmation of hours of internet and music player done.

Still, I rather say thanks to the person that give me a bit of hope in my n900 even if there a disccusion for deaf people in the thread.

ps: Mine is current holding the 3rd day with very limited use of internet. (1h30). I could have done similarly without any battery drainage problem like I had before....

ps2: I've seen a lot of people running on Mugen batteries.....does some in this thread are using it with the said tweak ?

oh and one other thing. Believe it or not LI-ion batteries have a finite lifespan. Anything from a couple of weeks to a year or so (depending on the number of charge cycles and how the battery is treated). The capacity of a battery is reduced slightly EVERY charge. Quite simply, buy a new battery. You will be amazed at how shagged your old one was.

ProTip: Go to dr_frost_dk's battery thread and follow the link for the SCUD blue battery. It only costs like $5 and has ~15% greater capacity than the original.

If after all this you still have suck battery life, you have broken something. Either diagnose with powertop & top or just re-flash and start again.

Great job with this script! Finally now my n900 feels like a phone! and not like a slow computer... and I only overclocked to 700MHz, also my battery lasts 2x more!

Great miraclescript! thank you jesus!!! lol

well karam after the ideal profile with min 250 n max 750, i am getting one 22 hours with nominal use. like when it used to be on 250 to 600 on default kernel. no improvements for me
