Hi folks,
version 0.2-5 is now out on openrepos!

For this release, I polished some UI elements and invested a bit of time for a tiny performance gain here and there: I'd say it runs pretty well on a Jolla Phone with an updated OS.

* Sat Nov 23 2019 velox 0.2-5
- enhancement: highlightColor for non clickable labels in options
- enhancement: display "special directory" icons in file list
- enhancement: indicate favourites in file list (visible from parent folder)
- enhancement: elide long folder names in places (favourites)
- maintenance: restructure qml directories
- maintenance: small performance optimisations
- Translation update it_IT, hu (thanks!)

Translation help still very much appreciated
If you want to help with a non-complete language (see previous post), please check https://www.transifex.com/velocode/talefish – Thank you!

Hi folks,
version 0.2-6 is out on openrepos since yesterday!

If you use periodical progress saving, I encourage you to update, because it didn't work well since the 0.2 rebuild.

* Sun Dec 08 2019 velox 0.2-6
- bugfix: periodical progress save fixed
- Translation update ru (thanks!)

Aaand another update is out (actually two), we're at 0.2-9 now.

There has been a request to restore the ability to make playing the next track automatically optional again (as present in < 0.2) and another potential bug with settings/application state surfaced in a short code review.

* Tue Jan 07 2020 velox 0.2-9
- enhancement: more useful handling of disabled "play next" (advance track instead of rewind)

* Mon Jan 06 2020 velox 0.2-8
- bugfix: squash yet another settings/progress bug
- user request: re-introduce "play next" option

cheers!

What's up folks?
Here's another post (I take the lack of discussion here as a good sign – but you're still very welcome to tell me what you like or dislike about Talefish or bugs you encounter, of course!) just to tell my favourite community about yet another release (actually it's two, AGAIN) of Talefish. The first was pretty much only to get it into Harbour (Jolla Store), which is the reason why the release numbers will grow a bit faster from now on: Jolla Store requires a new minor release with each update, even if it just fixes one typo.

We're now at v0.4-1 on openrepos (jolla store should follow soon) and if you're listening to media from a mounted volume, the update may be worth it to you:

* Sat Jan 11 2020 velox 0.4-1
- enhancement: show mounted SD card on places page
- translation update: added partial fr translation (thanks, translation team!)

* Wed Jan 08 2020 velox 0.3-1 (jolla store only; no added functionality)
- first jolla store release
- maintenance: migrate old settings to harbour-compatible path

If your native language is missing or not finished and that's not something you particularly like, please consider joining the amazing translation team at https://www.transifex.com/velocode/talefish/ – it's not (very) hard to help out. Alternatively, I gladly accept github pull requests, although it is a bit more work from my end to keep both systems synchronised that way.

cheers!

Hi folks,
some minor enhancements were added to Talefish the last week, resulting in v0.5-1 on openrepos (will be submitted to Jolla Store soon-ish).

Be aware that it will now enable the "save progress automatically" option (even if it had been disabled until now) to save users that chose not to inspect each and every option available (you should, though, some of them are really useful) from unwanted loss of playback progress due to "OOM-Kills" or other unexpected application kills. You can, of course, disable it manually again if you want to.

* Sat Jan 18 2020 velox 0.5-1
- bugfix: work around multiple Silica ComboBox bugs (all devices SFOS <3.2.1; Gemini PDA) (see https://together.jolla.com/question/49831/)
- enhancement: set "save progress periodically" enabled as default; force default for all existing installations once.
- enhancement: make selected "skip mode" visible on cover action buttons (small, big, track beginning)

Hi folks,
before submitting the previous release to harbour, some problems with error message handling (for example if you've deleted the files that were opened) arose. Todays release v0.5-2 aims to fix those:

* Thu Jan 23 2020 velox 0.5-2
- bugfix: change error output format (for example for deleted files)
- bugfix: hide error/show progress bar when existing files are opened again after an error

cheers!

Talefish PRO:

-I like the Sailfish nativeness of the program.

-clean design and presentation, well worked out features

-directory based file management trigers you to keep track of where you keep the files - stress reduction because "in control".

Talefish CON is a whishlist:

-no chapters.. Look at Listenbook on iOS and Voice on Android.
-no bookmarks & notes
-no integrated (sleep) timer

That I know, but Slumber the one sleep timer application to rule them all doesn't work (anymore/for me) with it's sister application Talefish on Sailfish 4.5.
I've tried the Jolla store version though.
As far as I'm concerned, built in sleep timer will do.
