Skype installs easily, attempting to sign in to see if it kills the call

Still won't give me the fingerboard easily by pressing on the screen. I miss OS2007 in this regard

Ok, so obviously the maemo setup is still in its infancy...but, there is no reason for their official download site to be running at molasses speed. They could farm out a lot of their bandwidth to the amazon S3 cloud and not take any kind of performance hit.

The guys over at panic did that when they released Coda (http://www.cabel.name/2007/04/coda-one-week-later.html) and how much did they lose in cash for all this bandwidth?

So, all told, users downloaded 643 GB worth of Coda in the last seven days. The total bill? $128. Mellow.

The only problem with that is that the Maemo team has to convince upper management that they need more bandwidth or to use something like S3... and neither of which would be very easy to do.

That's a good start. It seems a bit weird that you use your finger to browse menus and launch apps but most of the time you then have to use the stylus anyway.
