I'm having icon corruption on app launch while animation is active even if the program was updated to the last release which is supposed to fix this behaviour (N800 with latest Diablo SSU, booting from SD, OMWeather and GPE Summary applets actives, no wifi, no bluetooth, using large statusbar clock, advanced backlight and load applet)

tso, to be honest I never anticipated or tested blank spots. I can see why it would fail. I guess you want an irregular layout, so can't just use the padding? I will look into this.

I have seen the corruption on animation. Clearly graphic effects are not my strong point. Scratchbox doesn't show the corruption, so I think it is something to do with the amount of processor time it takes. At least it is an option you can turn off if it bother you, but I will see what I can do about it.

yep, what im looking for is 2 or more irregular groups of icons, visually seperated from the other groups.

like say having one group of system apps and one of games.

the simplest, and most fiddly is basically to allow empty entries (funny enough they mostly work already as manually adding something with just a name will produce a blank spot, no icon or similar, just like adding titles in personal menu).

the more complex one is to give the user the ability to put each icon into a numbered group, and have the software figure out how to do the spacing so that each icon of the same group are next to another of the same number, but no next to any of another number, based on the shape and size of the launcher area.

but that latter solution could be highly cpu intense i suspect.

What about somehow being able to run two instances of personal launcher at the same time...would that be possible?

while not knowing the first thing about maemo desktop applets, i find it highly unlikely.

the maemo system do not seem to be designed to handle something like that (this guessed by looking at the current gui for selecting applets to show and so on), unless a single applet can have multiple "windows" open...

Yes, the latest update was just to fix a packaging error.

Regarding two instances, you could copy the .so file and desktop file, but they would still read from the same configuration file, so you would have two identical applets running.
