I don't know if maybe the game is too "advanced", but got no luck trying to play Tales of Phantasia, the translated version of DeJap. Got no sound and it hangs as soon as it gets to the title screen. =/

Try the proper confirmed good dump of the original Japanese.

Looking for one, but DeJap should work... works on every emulator I have tried so far.

sound and graphics seem amazing (trying this emulator out with 'Chrono Trigger' (awesomw snes rpg) BUTthe screen shown is just a square in the middle leaving a lot of black space to the left and right. anyway to make thia play using the whole screen on an n810 like the vgba emulator?

I can't imagine that full screen would look good.

This emulator supports proper ratio of 1:1 if you use it in windowed mode and 2x full screen.

Anything else would look terrible in my opinion. Heck, I don't even like the feel of hardware scaling so I have that feature removed.

Also, I don't think this will run the Tales translation.

If you're looking for something easy to play, might I suggest Wonder Project J. Change the speed of Pina's movement to slow in the options menu and you've got a great time waster to enjoy.

The VGBA does a wonderful job on using the full tablet screen (horrible job on sounds though) and I can't remember the size diff between the snes and gba screens - were the gba screens that much closer to the 800x480 aspect ratio?

Can't see myself using the snes emulator due to the microscopic screen though when there is the vgba option for many of the games. Some I cant get to run well though so I was hoping to use this emulator for those games (like FF VI for instance).

Yes, GBA is a lot closer to the aspect ratio of the tablets. SNES and NES = 256x240, GBA = 240x160.

This emu isn't working correctly anymore.

From the launcher, if I select play or restart, nothing happens.

I think there's a paused screen underneath it.

In Xterm I've done:
killall drnoksnes
killall drnoksnes_startup
killall drnoksnes_startup.launch

I get a black screen for about a minute then I get the desktop back.

Even after doing this and hard resetting the tablet, this emu will still not start a game.

Is there some other process or file that needs to be killed off?

Thanks.

Ouch. Black screen means the emu binary is starting, thus it's not a gui problem. Can you try a "known working" ROM like SMWorld, but with the .smc file in a new dir?

Hey Javis!

Okay here's what I did and what happened:

Moved one working rom file to a different folder, nothing else
Started up Drnoksnes
Could only choose play, restart not available (normal)
Hit play
Nothing.
About 10 seconds later, pop up window stating game hasn't started (I get this message all the time even if it does start)
Opened up Xterm:
Killed off those 3 processes I mentioned earlier
Minimized Xterm
Black screen for 1 minute.
Back to normal desktop
Hard resetting the the tablet after this hasn't made a difference so I don't do that anymore.

Is this perhaps a bug? *lol*
