I've asked my local shop people about them and they simply told me that they didn't deal with those, didn't know anything about them, and I'd have to go to the website people.
Thats insanely expensive.

If Witter isn't working for you, eg crashes/doesn't start, gives errors etc etc. Please run it from x-term using:
run-standalone.sh python2.5 /opt/witter/witter.py

This will generate diagnostic output. Without this I cannot help you.

I've ordered mine on the 12 month contract, I hate being tied to anything longer than a year (as you know the next device always comes out 1 year later!)

For anyone worried about T-Mobiles data plans, there's no need to be! I currently have been using a G1 with the standard Webnwalk package, I rarely am under the limits. I frequently used Wifi tether for a few months; for internet use and the odd Trackmania session, once I had 3 people playing World of Warcraft using my phone as a wireless router. I have also used my sim in a 3G Modem. I download new firmware updates (90mb at a time,) and many other files. Seriously from my experience T-Mobile would only care if you tethered to a PC and started downloading movies.

I'd go t-mobile in a heartbeat if I got signal with them. As it is I think o2 is my best bet.

Also, you need to add delivery charges (£3.99 I think) whereas with the Nokia Special Offer there's free delivery until 21 November.

This looks like the deal for me!!

Comparing the total cost over 18 months, mobilephonesdirect.co.uk @ £465.25, against Nokia direct @ £424.15 (including the current 15% discount), you're effectively receiving a 1GB soft-limit data plan, plus 100 minutes & 100 texts, for just £2.28 extra per month!!

Sounds like the perfect N900 deal for me!

Also, regarding their fair use policy, from their Pay Monthly Terms & Conditions:
This option comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much.

From my experience T-Mobile are like the better 'unlimited broadband' offers where you either have to be going over 1GB for a few months in a row, or use an obsene amount in one month (e.g 3GB.)

Really? Other than t-mobile (same prices, double the FUP limit) it seems to be fairly competitive; I certainly haven't seen anything comparable from the like of O2.

If you're getting an N900, how are you getting it online?
