If you rip with DVD Shrink, to end up with a single movie file, just go to its Preferences and select that you do not want the output saved in chunks of less-than-1GB. Then you end up with a bunch of VOB files, but one is much larger than the others. That one is the movie, all in one piece.

When I use NVC with the URL option to convert a YouTube link, I get "YouTube URL error" even though the address is valid.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi! Try first the beta version at:

If you get "YouTube URL error", send me the link (so i can make some tests).

I'll give it a go. In your original example where you pointed us to the link to 0.8.4.0 the example page (when describing YouTube URL) had a longer(?) url than I had in mine. For example when I pointed to a YouTube video, the yellow highlighted section looked like this (just an arbitrary/current video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg2bnZwZuGY with the file name filled in.
Whe I pressed the 'youtube' button, it gave the file size after "checking URL" msg.

However, when I pressed OK, I got the "YouTube URL error".

NVC 0.8.4.0 works on file conversion, but I'm not sure what's going on with the URL bit.

Hope that helps?

n800fm, I'm not positive this is responsive, but maybe you should look into http://bywifi.com/ which has a way to SAVE youtube videos from the URL into a phone-friendly format.

I used to use my PSP to watch video while on the move until I got the N800, now I use this. To get files from DVD to PSP formatted MP4 files I use the Cucusoft DVD-to-PSP ripper ... http://www.cucusoft.com/dvd-to-psp.asp

But I cant use this tool to convert from MP4??

Any future plans to include something in the Video Converter to access the DVD menu and convert from there, instead of only from files already created?

I've used the trial version and found it pretty easy to use. Once I converted a DVD to AVI, I was able to optimize it using the Nokia Internet Tablet Video Converter (to convert to MP4) or the N800 Video Convert

If there's someone who feels up to it, it's fairly trivial to write some code using the ITVC API to tie all those processes into one so you have a single drag/drop action into the ITVC to accomplish the entire chain of events.

Paolo/pmaxx69:

Am I right that the N800 Video Converter is your doing? I think it's great, thanks for creating it. I'm wondering if you're going to keep going with it in light of there being other video-conversion apps (which I don't like as well as yours).
