I tried an aol account and it does not add the account. it shows up on the accounts menu, does not log in, but when I check sqlite the account is not being added. MSN works fine. Using the new deb files provided

dpkg -i filename.deb

apt-get install would query the repositories that are defined on your N9 for the package and download it...but there isn't any repository that holds this package

But clicking on the deb file should be enough to install it.

Tried both with and without the "@aol.com". Yahoo and MSN was added without a hitch but it seems there is a hickup with aol.

Hmm that's strange. I couldn't check AOL before as I don't have a login, only msn, icq and yahoo.
Maybe it's something with libpurple or haze..the provider files are nearly the same for all accounts, so I doubt it has something to do with these.

Would be interesting if billranton has tried this before and could give some insight if it was working for him.

Hi
I installed this 3 packages, and activated 4 my accounts: MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Vkontakte (via Jabber).
I saw the contact from my accounts added to the phone book, I needed merge them..
I checked MSN, Yahoo, worked good. The ICQ and Vkontakte I can't check for now, because my friend OFFline..

I also tried to remove all 3 peckages and reinstall it again, and I saw all my accounts here

Don't have option for avatar...

Thank you !

P.S. what about battery if I online on the 4-5 accounts ?

The battery consumption should go up, but as telepathy-haze is optimized (more than telepathy-butterfly as it seems) it should be ok.

If your phone lasts from 7am to 22pm normally, I think you'd have to expect a drop by 2-4 (?) hours on wireless. 3G / 3.5G will be more expensive. At least that's my impression from my previous usage.

But battery consumption is hard to calculate...so everything is approximate.

Note that every protocol behaves different. Some may have "push notifications" others will regulary poll...if one of your contacts just switches all the day from offline to online it will also consume more...

Test it for two to three days and report back. It was ok for me.

Hadn't tested the aol one. Change the protocol in the service file to aim instead of aol and it works.
