Progress report - I have a working libsoup 2.4 in Diablo. Not all its tests pass currently so I'll check if that's normal before getting it in extras-devel.

Great news!

By the way, building WebKitGtk with libsoup support will give Tear ability to handle HTTP requests and responses. This will make it possible to fix some good old bugs, for example, bug with downloading programs from maemo.org/downloads: now for half of programs tear will suggest bad filename for .install-file and you can't save or open such .install-file. Server sends valid filename with Content-Disposition HTTP header, but we can't read it without libsoup.

Sorry, there is no progress from my side -- i mean porting features from tear-improvements. I'm now parted between Telescope and Tear (not counting my regular job, and most important - my wife ). Last couple of days i was busy by fixing bugs in telescope.

Yes, libsoup support in WebKit is far ahead now of CURL support (which they deprecated after 41128).

Other improvement should be the possibility to handle basic authentication.

Not sure what the deal was, but it doesn't crash anymore. Working great now! Tear is by for the best browser for Diablo right now. Thanks for the good work!

Another status update - I found the sneaky bastards responsible for the failing tests - some 64bit ints used for Content-Length and Content-Range.

Now every test that passes on Fremantle also passes on Diablo. With the addition of passing the SSL test (which looks like didn't got included in Fremantle's libsoup build).

Now for the packaging part.
