Sorry we can't promise shipment to all the countries that are not listed in dropdown menu.
For money transfer to IBAN you can use any "destination" you like (others used "Switzerland") since the bank account will always stay the same and no CC plausibility checks should apply, but please be aware that we can't guarantee shipping, so this is an option only for real donations that don't hope for rebate.

We may support hotswap of battery in the field, given you use this procedure:

After a better reading of the specs, Wikipdia, and this, I've understand two things :
- if I have the PLS8-E, I can't use UTMS in North America, and with a PLS8-U, I can't use UTMS in Europe ;
- the PLS8-E can't use GSM/GPRS/EDGE in North-America.

In pratice, in France, the EDGE is almost unusable.

A swappable chip would be very interresting.

what module specs data are your evaluations based on?

[edit] yes, your description is a bit terse but basically correct, though the data regarding supported bands of PLS8 might change, there are not even proper datasheets available yet.

[edit2] Also I think this might indicate the "datasheet" (actually press release paper) is not comprehensive:
PLS8 and its variants, PLS8-E and PLS8-US, provide true
worldwide coverage and reliability even while roaming across
different wireless networks.
sounds to me like there should be 3 modules: PLS8, PLS8-E, PLS8-US. Typical preliminary infosheet inaccuracies.

This maybe a subject for another topic. As I understand it, the neo900 will be in the standard nokia n900 case (+ or - 1mm). I also read that there will be connections for additional hardware. I know there are a few ideas for the Mugan cover but what would be the most interesting things you could do with that extra space. Neo900, the extra third.

Add inductive charging
add a touchpad integrated into backside of device (well, half the area would be available and not occupied by camera and stuff)
add a lowres LED matrix display, for geek factor ;-)
add ethernet
add laser barcode scanner
add integrated RTL-SDR
Add 866MHz for home automation control
Add... ugh...
- could somebody stop me please?! ;-P

cheers

Add mounting points for additional lens attachments for the camera. It would be really fun to be able to mount a decent macro lens. Also, a tripod mount-point would make time lapse photography more convenient.
