Why some apps i install, dont show up in the menu? Is there any way to find them so i can run them from there?

is it possible to install compiler via easy debian on n900. i want g++ so i can compile mini programs that i write everywhere i go, with my n900.

Yes, I did it.....installed gcc g++....if I remember correctly, I may have had to update my sources list to get it ....

You can try 'apt-get install gcc g++' and see if it finds it to install. If not, then update sources list to add debian lenny (?) to get it....

i intalled it via synaptic but i cant find it on the menu, do you know how to find it and run it?

BLIZZARD: I don't think that compilers have menu items, since they are command-line apps.

and then it says me "file not recognized: File format not recognized collect2: ld ruturned 1 exit status"

FYI.....I installed this a few weeks ago and just compiled one app from sources, so, just did:

Code:
# ./configure
# make
# make install
I had to reflash the other day, so, I need to re-install gcc g++ again....

The latest power user kernel (kernel-power-flasher) v34 in extras-devel includes a fix for the MMC code.
I wonder whether it could fix the sometimes very long decompression times of the easydebian image.
Please let me know if it helps.

I've installed a Polish keyboard layout for the hardware keyboard so while holding fn and ctrl i can type óćął etc. It works perfectly in openoffice when I open it via the icon in app manager but when I open it from debian it doesn't work. Is it supposed to be this way? How can I fix it?
