UBIFS, by Nokia and University of Szeged
LogFS
Compare between those two

All data from 2008/03/* though. There might be more recent data or other options available.

What you talk about is more a replacement for unionfs/tmpfs. There have been improvements on those fronts as well.

Ah yes, Alternative for SquashFS/CramFS. Those are often used on live CDs. But can also be used on NITs.

The /mnt/init or what was it (forgot for the moment) could use this. Basically all using Ext2/Ext3 right now.

Also e.g. whole / on AXFS, then /etc on a normal flash-based FS like the ones I described. /var same as /etc although some users care less about /var/log. /home same as /etc, and /root same as /etc as well.

For those going to the summit. One of the things that would really swing users would be better PIM applications. Many users would like to switch from the dead end Palm devices. A lot of them moved to the IPAQ 210/111 and found that they were "not very well made" and now regret the purchase.

Nokia can make a clean sweep of these users by implementing a good PIM suite as that is the only thing left differentiating the tablet from a PDA. Yes I know it is not a PDA, but I am just thinking about the revenue they could generate from adding this application. Much like games, calculators, emulators and other not internet applications have been added.

The fact that those apps are found on PDAs shoud not stop Nokia from adding them. Browsers and media players are found on PDAs too. It would still be an internet tablet it would just have an extra attraction.
