The name is pretty awful. It sounds like a KIRF brand.
Ok, but when you do the certificates and legal stuff, what shall I put for the name and model? (It has to be registered)

If you have an already registered but not in use name, please share with me.

Something very neutral an basic would be nice. Like 'Sailtab' or maybe the name of some other fish like 'Marlintab'.

In general I'm also quite interested. But in my opinion USB-C is a must as Micro&Mini-USB is phasing out.
Also a USB-C with real UBB 3.1 capabilities would be awesome, so not only simple power and data, but also DP and even Thunderbolt.

and how to do that?
chen words...
Now since this is clear, we dug-out some 2-year-old archives... All the MD files are there, the PCB layout is there, component BOM is there. Great! We then checked with the supplier, camera module, IC, chipset availability.... screen availability... Yes, we can still purchase it! (This is another coincidence, normally quite some chips will be discontinued after a period of time)

Now we are ready. No software adaptation needed, no tooling cost and moulding cost needed, no NRE needed, no software engineering cost needed, we can instantly put it into assembling line!

The whole idea is to make new batch of jolla tablets without jolla branding. And for any of your wishes they would basically need to desing a new device.

I think it is what it is and could still be quite useful. At this point if someone wants a tablet running SF with better specs they will have to buy an Android tablet and port SF. Not a bad thing in itself but may be difficult. Note sure if SF has been ported on Android device running MM and beyond which is a couple of years old now.

Just a quick assurance that we are working on to get all the bits prepared. And a new keyboard case is in designing process. All looks well, more update will be shared shortly.

Is this name registered already and not in use?

The nane does not harm the device if the device does not harm the name.Meaning that for a good device , device itself is what counts, not the name.

Lets concentrate to more meaningfulll issues.
Is there any improvement on componenens, I mean that usually when time goes the are new compatible versions made and old ones are obsolete.
2 years in semiconductor manufacturing is like half of human life.
