I remember hearing about the N810 on Ars Technica and thinking "Yes! An Internet Tablet! That's exactly what I want. What a delight it's been to access so much of the web's functionality, get free applications that aren't secretly trying to bilk me for money (as with certain other ecosystems), have rock-solid hardware, an engaging community. It's been fun & exciting.

I'm american and this made me laugh.

Ha, I'm writing this on my N800 with Opera. It's perfectly doable, but compared with a modern gadget it is clunketiclunk. It didn't feel clunky before. That's part of the evolution. The N9 already feel a biit clunky compared with the Lumia 800.

The clunkyness creeps in. Updates keeps the clunkynesss on arms length. The only reason the N800 is bearable, is due to Opera. The default browser is way too clunky.

That's the problem with the N9 now. It won't receive anny more updates. The only thing that will happen is it will gradually become more annd more clunky, relatively speaking.

Thanks a lot for everything! I recently brought my N800 to workplace and now it can retire by playing radio aloud to me. It got me thinking about how revolutionary the device really was at its days when I connected it to internet via my cellphone. No wonder why such devices gathered a community around them. Shame that N900 had really bad karma. Anyway it wasn't the devices fault so thanks one more time!
