Man..that was the freaking deal i was waiting for Hopefully the price will come down a little in December (close to 500) and I'll be able to cash in $200 of credit card rewards toward purchase of n900.

Correct, that if it is going to break due to manufacturing problems then I hope it happens in the first year. But anyway I'm covered for a second year anyway thanks to credit card warranty. Most credit cards (not Discover though) will add an additional one year warranty past manufacturer warranty.

Just checking the Dell website and I no longer see the N900 even listed! Guess that means they sold out? Time to call the wife and have her verify the order.

The dude was wondering about CA, so I think you meant the State of California Franchise Tax Board, not the IRS. The IRS doesn't collect sales tax for such items. As you mentioned, the IRS cares mostly about income. States are generally much more creative.

Well I got a call from Dell just now asking for confirmation of my purchase with my card they had my whole history on there screen it freaked me out... I got in on the coupon and she told me I will be getting an email once it processes and shipping... She said soon so I took that as sooner than the date stated online as others have said it's a guess date they may get them sooner than that to ship... Just glad I jumped when I did and not think saved a good lil bit of coin...

Yup, Dell took out the N900. I checked my email but there was not order cancellation notice from Dell. Checked my credit card and saw a charge of $461.78 charge from Dell. Guess the deal went through....

We're all getting a bit off topic, but regarding the Square Trade waranty, you can always go to their website and create your own waranty for the product after you've received it. In fact, if you like extended waranties, you can do that with pretty much all the electronics you purchase and it's a better deal than buying the waranty at the store.
