Are any other GPS receivers (other than Holux) having problems with connection?
I am having another problem with MM v2.0.1 installed. I have the i-Blue Edition 2 (i-Blue 737). MM will connect with the GPS but not get any satellite connection. The progress bar remains empty as if the GPS can't find any satellites. First time I've had this issue with the GPS.

Also,
For the bogus routes appearing on the maps, it happens in the NE and west of the NE states (PA, KY, WVU, etc.).

Edit: I see others are beginning to report the problem and it doesn't seem to be isolated to a specific part of the world or country.

One question - perhaps I have missed something, but I have had to rotate the N800 by 180 degrees to use the Auto-Rotate mode so that the map display is consistent with my direction of travel. This did not happen with 2.00. Have I missed something?
Are you saying that, with Auto-Rotate enabled, down points in your direction of travel, instead of up? If so, check the Settings dialog, in the Auto-Center tab, and make sure that the "Points" combo box is set to "Up" and not "Down".

Gnuite:

You are THE MAN ! Maemo Mapper is an amazing piece of work. You are to be commended. I upgraded from 1.4x to 2.0 then 2.0.1 last night. I had some snags, but I read every post in this thread, and tried some things I saw here and got it working perfectly. Excellent work on your part.

If I may make one small suggestion. I had to do a fresh install, and I followed a xterm command you posted in this thread earlier. That seemed to do the trick (that and renaming / moving my old maps). My suggestion is this: I became accustomed to MM automatically starting my N800 Bluetooth when I started MM. My first time launching MM 2.0.1 this did not take place (understandably), I went to "settings" in MM and saw no MAC for my GPS device (understandably too). I pressed "scan" and the MM began scanning....never found anything. The reason was that I had not ( and MM had not ) launched the N800 BT. I think you should not scan without insuring the user (or MM) has first turned on the BT within the N800. This is not a criticism in any way. It is an observation, and I think you will agree a tiny addition to your code would take care of this in a up coming revision.

All in all, Maemo Mapper is an awesome application. It is my first GPS toy, and I bought a BT GPS unit last week solely to play with MM on my N800 ( which I have had for 3 weeks now ). Congratulations on an excellent piece of software. I am going out for a 35 mile drive in the car now to play with MM 2.0.1

Looks like sarahn (same gps) and coldstream (different gpps) are reporting the same issue. I drove to work today and found that:
- Reboot is required to use the gps. otherwise it's just stuck at Establishing GPS fix
- once it has lost a Gps fix (i.e. going into a tunnel) that's it, need to reboot to get it working
- closing and opening the program doesn't help
- reset bbluetooth (manually or via the menu item... i rtfm, your welcome) doesn't help
- throwing a tantrum doesn't help (actually, i learned this prior to this current problem... but not soon enough)

Still unsure how to capture the nmea stream... though it's definitely acquiring a fix, just MM isn't picking it up.

[I posted this before in the wrong thread]
Just FYI, the help displays fine (i.e. it falls back to english) with the n800 in spanish.
I'm using the latest firmware but it should work equally well with the previous one (since the only change was the kernel).

Just upgraded to 2.0.1... now it doesn't start. Starting MM in an xterm gives me *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop) 0x00076530 *** aborted

rebooting doesn't help that I can tell...

Did you delete your old map (v2.0) database file?
