I was going to help seed that thing even if I don't plan to install it myself (I'll wait for a non-beta release with more apps)... but I can't seem to connect to that tracker :-(

I'll leave it trying overnight, we'll see...

If you're talking about browsing user/password protected shares from OS2008's File Manager, you can't.

i installed ssh and now x-term is not letting me logon.
see the error below:

$ ssh root@127.0.0.1

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY!
Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)!
It is also possible that the RSA host key has just been changed.
The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is

Please contact your system administrator.
Add correct host key in /home/user/.ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message.
Offending key in /home/user/.ssh/known_hosts:1
RSA host key for 127.0.0.1 has changed and you have requested strict checking.
Host key verification failed.

can someone confirm the same behavior?

I'll stick with the leaked n810 firmware untill full ver for n800 is released in December. The only bugs I see are with the RSS Reader closing right when opened and bluetooth connection timeouts.

can someone help?
When you first install SSH (server) it creates a new private key for the server. So if this is a new (2nd) install of SSH for some reason, then you can just follow the instructions and delete the first line (line 1)in /home/user/.ssh/known_hosts.

But really you probably don't need to be ssh'ing to the root account on localhost? If you just want to become root, the the "becomeroot" package is probably what you're after and works on OS2008. (Which is the only thing relevant to this thread )

This is a standard SSH message warning you that the computer you're connecting to is different to the last time you connected. Since you're connecting to your N800 that's to be expected since you just flashed new firmware into it.

Just delete the known_hosts file and all will be well.

Then run "passwd" as root and change your root password. It's a bit insecure having "rootme" as the password.
