I voted YES. There's obviously the caveat that for proper file comparing you need to have installed diffutils-gnu. But that was the plan, so to me it fits the definition of "stable".

Other than that, everything I've tried seems to work fine.

Well, at some point in time a package may be considered mature and the devels move on. MC for sure is such package in my book, works like a charm since literally a decade or more. And maemo mc seems is taken good care about by ginggs, THANKS for that!
Please consider testing and promoting: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...73#post1458573

cheers

Midnight Commander 4.8.14-0maemo1 uploaded to extras-devel for Maemo and OpenRepos for Harmattan.

I'd appreciate some feedback before I promote it to extras-testing.

Changelog:
  • New upstream release.
  • Drop patches include upstream, refresh all others.
  • Include fix for 100% CPU usage with ncurses (upstream ticket #2244), build with ncurses instead of slang again.

If you previously had mc 4.8.13-0maemo1 installed, the slang library should no longer be needed after upgrading, and can be removed:
Code:
# apt-get remove libslang2

Probably not me. I don't have the SDK or a device for testing.
