strange that it is working for everyone else, and only for you not.
hmmmm then the readon must be something else and not Sygic MM9..
I wonder what that reason is..

Define working?

I think that the ones that say this 'works' have not ever been near a real navigation experience to have any form of reference. Take a dedicated unit and put it next to this and then compare smoothness and accuracy. Actually, take the 5800 with latest Ovi maps and compare.

yes very strange the fact that ovi maps is silky smooth and near exact to where i am even when on the train or push bike, so you cant tell me that my gps is weak like sygic did.
I have tried so many different settings that we're suggested and had no change but at the end of the day i shouldn't have to change anything it cost about £54 for god sake it should be fine as soon as installed.

have to agree with torres on some points here

i know we wanted sygic bad and iam gratefull but at the same time the product is a bit half baked

at no point should an end user have to delve into the ini file and edit that to get the system or app performing how it should

in that respect it is allmost beta software and the price should reflect that

again iam happy with sygic after i have modded it and luckily for me i dont mind modding and messing about with my pc and n900 to get things going

however this shouldnt be the case and the software shouldnt need this sort of modding to bring it up to scratch

its lucky users jumped on what could be done and started modding it otherwise it wouldnt be as good as it is and it still needs work even after modding

hope to see updates soon as it cost alot of money

cheers

I have used it everyday for two weeks now, and other than adding full screen and moving "Exit" and "rotate display" to the front page of their menu's as a convienence, I haven't changed a dang setting... so, please leave you crap out of this thread unless you are:

1. Have a problem.
2. Providing a solution.

Most of the "problems" reported here are settings related.

Not Sygic default settings, but settings changed by the user at some point. Installation problems seem to be related to having and correctly installing the .deb file.

This product is at least as good, if not better than my wifes 4.3" display TomTom One which I just recently ran side by side on a trip to "Grand-Ma's" today, on Easter Sunday.

People are going into a configuration file because they complain of lag. What they are not saying is if this "lag is present when they are following a planned route or are just using it as a moving map.

I have had no lag when in route mode as Sygic has a pretty aggressive pre-fetch. You see this when you pass a turn that you were supposed to make on the planned route. The display will turn as if you made it, Sygic will pull another position reading and learn you hadn't, immediately correct its display and instantly calculate a new route.

The TomTom on the other hand displays your error immediately but only calculates a freakin' u-turn up ahead, it will waste its time with this and calculate U-turns 2 or 3 times before committing to a full route calculation. (These U-turns it suggests are where it first assumes a break in a divided highway. More often than not the U-turn is illegal or is physically impossible to complete.)

Now using Sygic as a moving map I see lag, but that is because the freakin' thing doesn't know which way I'm going to turn, if any. It obviously waits for more position input before committing to a display change.

I got an exceptional value for the 49 euros that I paid for it. However, I am not going to post implying that if someone didn't get the same value it must be because they are a dip shyt or don't realy use it
Please don't post with nothing more than an opinion that implies that people like me who paid for this product are delusional. it makes the forum look bad dude.

BTW, if I just wanted a dang moving map I would have used the OVI map app that came free on my N900.

This product is no where near as good as the garmin i had the map detail is terrible, dont you think i have been using this on a planned route !!.
I have tried it many different times in many places i have problems like "keep right and turn left" on a straight road, at least 80m away from the place where i actually am.
Sygic customer service are useless they just told me my n900's gps must be weak, after blaming the late release on nokia dont you thing they should of used the extra time to double check the product.
