I flashed my device, and got what seemed like not particularly updated OS. slow and sluggish, tried installing apps from a backup.. and then got a reboot cycle! so decided to take the plunge and reflash total inc EMMC and now its sweet deff recommend a total reflash and only restoring phone book!

I've removed everything in /home/user/.mozilla/microb after encountering the problem, why should I need to flash the eMMC?
Finally managed to get Firefox installed again, so at least happy with that.
