Wayland 1.0 is 1 to 2 months away from being released which will be a substantial improvement. Here is an hour long video of a wayland dev explaining why wayland http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...tem&px=MTE4NTA

Wayland progress for QT5 (<--future Jolla), GTK+, Clutter, SDL, EFL (<--Tizen)

So I'm guessing the way things will go is Jolla will release their first phone with QT4, then Wayland port for QT5 will get released a few months later and they/us will be installing it on the Jolla phones and any other devices as it will be a nice improvement and the second or third Jolla phones will have QT5 and wayland.

Hmm wait a second I guess meegos compositor works with wayland. I really am a newbie when it comes to understanding this linux stuff.

That's from "old" Mer, FWIW. But PySide does exist for Mer and Nemo.

Major bug fix and software update arrives Nov 2013. People hyped about the Motorola Nexus X in Oct 2013 with Android 5.1 with Mainline Linux Kernel, and new features.

Noone is winner forever, luckly.

You can't dissmis jolla without giving them a chance. New OSes should always be supported by users, at least until you tried it. You can't fly, jump or rule before walking.
