Renaming?

I think I'll leave adding extra backgrounds to end users, it would take hours of work to update all my themes since there are plenty of them out there...

1. Since the last 2 releases I'm experiencing random UI lockups with different apps. For example downloading a remote with qtirreco, configuring it, deleting it because of false configuration, redownloading it again will freeze up my system. Same with Macuco browser, opened a link from facebook and tried to close the newly opened page from the taskswitcher brought the same result. Same when trying to delete several mails at once from Gmail IMAP account with modest. Never had these problems before and at least the qtirreco version hasn't changed for a long time, so I guess it has to do with the CSSU... any help?
2. where to donate?

See the thanks from merlin1991, Sc0pius, MohammadAG and a lot of the other contributors to the CSSU.

You're already contributing if you find bugs and regressions from stock PR1.3 behaviour and are raising them. Other easy ways for non-technical people to contribute:
  • Write test plans so that we can share the load, and be consistent, about testing for stable releases.
  • Encourage developers who've done hacks (like Theme Customiser) to create merge requests and contribute code via gitorious.
  • Help triage the current set of open bugs: http://j.mp/communityssu-bugs
    • If it's RESOLVED FIXED, see if the fix is in the current -testing release. If so, change it to be VERIFIED
    • If it's UNCONFIRMED try and reproduce it, expanding on the reproduction instructions from the reporter.
    • If it's got not much information, talk to the reporter via the comments asking for further details.
    • If you're artististic, you could create a background for HAM in portrait mode, see #11986 for the originals; or come up with a better logo for the CSSU than the circular "update" arrow.
  • Help with the documentation and description on the wiki homepage, including coming up with a marketing plan.

I think it's absolutely balmy not to collect the money obviously waiting to be contributed to the project. If you need the money some day, there is no guarantee it will be available then.

I can pretty much guarantee that I will not contribute much to the project beyond bug reports but would contribute money. I'm confident I'm not alone.

I agree strike while the Irons hot, people are more likely to give now then when everything is done and dusted when there ar less updates as the team iron out the bugs!

Not everyone is good at compiling bug reports or updating web pages at least by donating I feel as if I am contributing!!!!

I know what you meant, but see above - currently we don't want money; This is scratching your itch territory (for me), and it's in all our interests to get more people contributing (which if there were donations going to some, how much do you need to contribute before you get a slice? One wiki edit, two? A patch? Triage a bug? Triage lots of bugs? Triage all bugs?)

Donations could end up dissuading more people to contribute on an ongoing basis.

Then help answer questions for newbies. Or look over the bug reports for ones which are obviously **** and add a comment saying "Can you be more accurate please?" or go over bug reports and try and reproduce if it's a subtle bug. Or just say "thanks"!

Jaffa I admire you and the other Developers refusal to accept cash donations when clearly so many of us are willing to ''reward'' your fantastic work by making donations. Your refusal to do so makes your efforts with the CSSU even more remarkable.

Clearly there is point in filing more posts on this subject but if you ever need donations in the future I am sure I speak for the rest of CSSU end users when I say we will be happy to contribute money. In the meantime we will continue testing etc as you have suggested.
