Well then thanks for all your help, but I quit my attempt at this point.

Oh, and Schturman, please do yourself and op a favor and update the post you refer to with "Open mode or Inception REQUIRED!" in order to avoid the same stupid questions from noobs over and over again. If I had known in first place, I wouldn't even have tried this.

Just experienced the battery drop to 4% (happens always now when battery is <15% on a call ) but despite having applied (strictly following) the recipe (only diff: min=3%, max=5%), it didn't kick in.
After the call (battery still on 4%), I opened PM and the rule appeared as active (blue bar). Opened it and hit "Test" and only then battery level refreshed.
Any ideas on this?

Also wouldn't it make sense to put a 2nd condition "Charging state > Not charging"? At least it can't hurt, right?

In my tests the restoring of battery level seemed to be extremely sensitive to the delays in the script between stop bme/start bme. The examples in the recipe were for values I found working and are quite conservative. Ie. the longer the delay between restarting bme the more likely it seemed to work.

However even with these delays it occasionally, but very seldom, fails to restore the battery level. I suggest you to test it for a while before doing changes. But you can experiment with longer delays if it doesn't seem to work.

Also wouldn't it make sense to put a 2nd condition "Charging state > Not charging"? At least it can't hurt, right?
Won't hurt. I don't see the sense in that IMO, but it shouldn't hurt .

The sense would be that restarting bme while charging is generally a bad idea I think. And it could in fact happen when you put the charger to your phone with nearly or completely drained battery.

Good point - I have no idea if that can cause a problem or not. Has anyone tested this potentially bad idea if it causes some problems?

You also can use it with one line command (without scripts)
Code:
sh -c "echo root | devel-su -c '/sbin/initctl stop bme && sleep 10 && /sbin/initctl start bme'"
Change "root" to your root pass. Change "10" to another number that you want 15 or 20 etc...

yes, i tryed by mistake once: discharging in 6 hours in idle mode, after recharging problem disappear and never faced that issue again

I've switched on my phone a number of times at 4% and plugged the charger. Since profilematic's daemon needs time to start it doesn't interfere with my 4-8% rule. On the two occassions it did restart bme, the battery charge before and after the restart was the same.

IMO, it isn't really necessary to add a "Not Charging" condition for this. OTOH, one can add in the script/recipe an additional line to check if the phone is plugged in or not hence achieving the same goal

I'll do it, just to be on the safe side.

Is there any benefit in using Schturmans' command instead of the script (besides not getting the notifications)?
