Howdy Y'all,

I just bought an N900 about a week ago and have been fiddling around with it on WiFi ever since. I live in California, and have been a Linux user for about 2 years now. I am enjoying playing with my N900, and I can't wait to get it active as a phone (I am thinking T-mobile, but need to do some more browsing before making a final decision, feel free to hit me with any device regarding that btw).

Anyways, I am looking forward to learning Maemo and having some good old fashioned geekery fun. Hit me up via MSN, AIM, or my website if you want.

Cheers,
Brady

Greetings all,

I started keeping an eye on here a few weeks ago when pondering the new-old "N900 or N8?" question.

I decided on the one with the keyboard and the Debian-based OS.

I'm a Linux geek for more than a decade now, but don't think Android was done the right way and don't trust anyone except Nokia to reliably build a complete phone hardware package at the moment.

Got my N900 when my ancient N95 broke its ribbon cable, and I haven't enjoyed a new device this much since I had a Qt-based Sharp Zaurus SL5500.

Fantastic to see such a busy forum, guys.

Already got my first life-saving tip:

"sudo apt-get install python2.5-sip4=4.10.5-maemo0" fixes a lot of Python apps like GRead, DropN900. Thank you noobmonkey!

Hello all! Are there any other N900 Users/Developers in the local areas of Virginia, D.C., or Maryland? If so, let's link up at some point--via E-mail or in person--to learn more about our devices.

Easy.
