Could you launch it from the command line to provide what kind of error is being reporting.
(The .desktop file did not change, both the GTK and Qt version have the same wrapper around the call, it just blocks debug information)Code:python /opt/dialcentral/lib/dialcentral_qt.py
I know heavyt is having issues with python-qt packages. It complains about the sip and qtgui packages being incompatible. I've not yet been able to figure out what is different between my n810 and his device.
Out of curiosity, do you (or heavyt) use Gonvert of ejpi? They should have the same issue (but no one has complained but no one is probably using them)

No, I have never used Gonvert or ejpi. Glad to hear you trying find a solution.
This issue was due to some dependency/promotion issues which left PyQt in a half-promoted state. An update has been made some three weeks ago (during the conferenceand everything should be dandy after that. If not, the user should apt-get update to the latest PyQt (the problem is that the application manager might refuse to pull in all dependant packages and instead opt not to install the application).

So epage, what is the next step? I tried apt-get update followed by apt-get install pyqt/pyqt4 but apt-get says can't find package. So I look in apps and found PyQt4 Demo and PyQt4 Full install (it needs libqt4-opengl), both of these apps are VERY large.

Because there is nothing DC can do about it. PyQt packages got messed up a couple weeks ago. Supposedly the problem is fixed but you have to manually
In theory the following commands will fix it (run as root)
It sounded like from heavyt that this still didn't work. My n810's battery died so I need to recharge it before I experiment with things.Code:apt-get update apt-get upgrade
770, n810, n900, Ideapad S10-3t
TheOneRing, DialCentral, Gonvert, Quicknote, Multilist, ejpi, nQa, Waters of Shiloah
