About "lack of communication" :

They use utube, planetqt, qt-project.org, twitter, facebook, IRC, G+ and is mainly as you said "developers". Many of them is working freetime with development because thats mainly what they like to do. Marketing is something that others can help with by following those "channels".

I am sure we can help them with marketing by spread the world about what happens in the MER, Meego, QT world.

I mean I really is suprised we have so few links about development stuff in this forum? There are several new thread per week about how" pissed we are at nokia". IMHO. nemomobile, Qt Threads, and development threads should be Active topics frontpage every damn day on this forum instead of Nokiastock etc.. (yes I know I also post in that thread... but anyway...)

So Again its upto us helping getting the communications forwarded to people who not sitting on IRC etc... Remember the community includes everyone on this forum except the trolls So its up to us.

Personally I dont see any communication problems so far from the mer team. Just following the above channels and you get the info and can help by post cool intresting stuff here or elsewhere when it comes up

Jolla has been quite non-commital about if they're running on ARM or Intel. My take on the whole thing is that Jolla is or was having talks with Intel (pretty sensible anyway, as Intel was a MeeGo partner). But whether it will be Intel depends on how much Intel is willing to commit to the partnership. The whole situation is of course complicated by Tizen with Samsung.

So in the end, it's money and politics. Like always. Anyways, Jolla is our best hope for future and I'm rooting for them whatever the underlying architecture.

I proposed to create a new forum or to move to opentablets. Or at least to make a subsection for Mer here. No one seemed to be eager until now. TMO is too bloated with noise and offtopics IMO.

Tizen is moving so slowly, it's like watching paint dry
Intel will ditch Tizen immediately If Jolla rolls out a Linux phone this year

all this hype around samsung is bad. I dont like any big corporation, whatever people says I do not beleive a second that tizen+samsung will be reality. Samsung is copycats, like ms and apple, and will continueuse android and possible wp8 in the future. But IF jolla be nextgen open "ecisystem" they will start copy that too..

but I doubt jolla will get any chance to be big but I dont care as long as its open as possible and release a new "geek toy" once a year...

Future Jolla App developers here is a request
Please.....Please
If jolla makes a big screen phone - like above 4.3 inches
Please port Linux CNC (formerly known as EMC2) to it and add support for BT keyboard with little mouse pad (like I have on my little BT keyboard) so I can do stuff like this

http://youtu.be/6UagccI5zb4
http://youtu.be/iDX_fa1KFI0
http://youtu.be/KxqcLmIekrE
http://youtu.be/FQj--00dTeQ
http://youtu.be/aYb668UaFF4
http://youtu.be/OlX6FpGOOkc
It would be total bada** to walk up to a Haas CNC mill and connect to the usb port and run a program using DNC along with full file browser and transfer capabilities and have the CNC code on the left half of your screen and the simulator on the right half and just be watching it and it's playing on your screen at the same time as the CNC is milling it.
For a portable device it needs to have either a big screen or else you have to be able to zoom in and out quickly & effortlessly or some compromise between the two because a little mistake in a fine detail can block your program from running when you create your toolpaths.
If you fail to connect 2 lines or you fail to scissor cut off the excess of two lines that is only obvious if you zoom in by 10x then it will block your toolpath creations.

Of course you will not be making parts start to finish on the phone or phablet unless they are just simple but there needs to be a certain level of ability to edit. You will most likely be making your parts on Mastercam or solidworks or another program on a desktop and then transferring them to the phone and then walking up to a CNC and connecting and running it. WIFI network support where you can get a file wirelessly from the guy in the office who designed the part would be a big plus.

Anyways.. if you were able to port this to a Jolla phone and it worked good and was practical, maaaaan you would score a whole segment of society just for Jolla - the CNC operators and programmers.

That would be total bada** and win bragging rights.
