I forgot to take a picture of the NIT itself. But here is a walking track in Reykjavík Iceland and the pool I was heading for. There is nothing like taking a swim in an outdoor pool in the wintertime. Heated by geothermal waters it is surreal experience. And having WiFI availability with access to the PBX back home is a bonus.

Now THAT'S what winter's all about!!!
They don't call us Winterpeg 'fer nuttin'
Maybe I should follow my own advice and not complain so much!
I apologize for coming off a little high-handed or pompous (at least that how it sounds to me now after I read it ). I was just trying to justify why I had to put on an extra sweater that night .

grog, you should have written, "I was just trying to justify forgoing my usual T-shirt and shorts for a long-sleeved shirt..."

23'F when I left the house this morning, 32'F in Washington, DC, now. I don't think I'll be taking any more pictures from the roof of my office unless I wear a coat.

This boat must have a very big engine. And it must have hit a big wave, because it jumped pretty high in the air.

my nokia is snuggling up to its big brother.

I feel like a midget using the big pc, its just like a big n810 with stylus in same place and everything, the only difference being I wouldn't be seen dead in public with the big tablet out and about, but I pull out my nokia all over the shop.

I just wish my code were upto speed to allow me to automagically sync the sketches I do between them when they are in range.

(Unless my bike corrodes out from under me first; the salt seems worse than the snow...)

OK, it finally got cold enough to justify taking the camera out and snapping some shots. (Yes, that does seem kind of backwards...)

It was -18 °F (-28 °C, 245 K), but that's mainly my fault for working so late. The handlebar mount is just for show in this weather; I ran through the battery that was in it, swapped batteries, and ran through the second battery before I made it home. My usual cold-weather carry, an inside pocket of my jacket (using earphones rather than speakers), stays warm and works much better.

And a second side effect of heading home late: the sidewalk was drifted over nicely, axle-deep in spots.

But this is probably the worst we'll get this winter, so after I tighten things up (one crank came loose this afternoon, probably differential thermal contraction), I should be good for the year.

It was horrible, they sent me to Guam last week for work. Got a little overcast that evening, but still nice and warm.
