Typing two or three relevant words into the Google search box on the site's main page and hitting submit takes less time and effort than typing up a post and waiting for replies.

On that note, may I request to everyone contributing wiki articles to start doing it over at the new maemowiki? It's really much better suited to be the centralized wiki than the abortion over here current being described as a "wiki" and even has some paid help to maintain it.

Well I'm sure this is going to start a big argument but, as long as itT has a wiki I will prob put my stuff here and there now. I just hope maemo.org doesn't add a forum and want us to leave here.

... I really can't post what I want to reply to that as t would most definitely be seen as trolling.

Back to the point some are making about searching. If 100 people search once, and put the answer up on maemowiki, that's a darned sight more fair than four unpaid volunteers doing it 25 times each.

If this was the official Nokia Internet Tablet Support Forum (tm) then I would expect answers to be provided, but it's not, it's a community website. We are all in this together.

Why? The itT wiki sucks. It's a cesspool. The maemo.org wiki has lots of maintainers, is fresh, new and looking up. What's the point of fragmenting things here (it juts makes it harder on the people looking for help). I definitely understood the point when maemo.org was using that atrocious midgard wiki (a warm bucket of spit was more usable than that thing), but we've moved over to mediawiki, so the the itT wiki is the one falling behind here.

It's not about two separate communities replicating functionality (see the itTSS fallout for that), it's about each website focusing on what it does best and the community using both. In this case, maemo.org is the better wiki, and itT is the better discussion forum.

Why cause more difficulty for users?

Maybe the maemo wiki needs to be syndicated into the itT wiki.
