You know, we could really explore the "rock tour" motif a little further. The typical souvenir shirt has the band and a list of dates/cities... well, we have one date/city so perhaps it's the event/venue (your previous vertical X theme that I liked) followed by a list of key participants below (where the rock tour shirt would have the dates/cities).

And of course Maemo logo over shirt pocket area.

How about a sticker idea?

Yeah, I already mentioned something like this, but I really think that a complete list of participants would come way too late to get the printing done. I like the idea, though!

Ok, folks, this one is my favorite:

The logo was conceived by more than just me (thanks, wazd) and the red signifies a special event. (Yes, orange fits better with maemo.org in general, but red makes it different: event-specific). The above image would be printed on the back. The front would be the white/red maemo.org logo over the left breast pocket.

If there are no major (and thought-provoking) objections, this is it.

Tim

P.S. We also need to consider sticker designs, unless (Quim, help me out here), we just want to do the same thing that was done last year.

Let's fill the basics first.

You say the front has maemo.org logo in the pocket, which assumes we have shirts with pocket. Or would that work without pocket as well? Just thinking. We need to decide the exact shirt we wish, including women option.

And we need to extract the current sizes requested by the registered participants! Who can extract that? Background transparent or white? Last year we had transparent but I feel they could be more intense colorful with classic white vinyl?

Stickers. let's have plenty of small & medium maemo.org stickers for Maemo devices and laptops.

You (anybody) have until the end of this week for proposing something else with real designs.

PS: great choice for the back, me likes!

I meant in the "pocket position," not that there would actually be a pocket. Thanks for asking for clarification.

I was thinking that if we get one shirt style, but in xs, s, m, l, xl, and xxl, we would just about cover everyone (no pun intended), including women.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by transparent vs. white vinyl. Can you explain?

I'm also not sure how we can extract the size data, but I'll ask X-Fade and Jaffa about it.

Tim

P.S. One alteration to the design above... I'm going to change the m.o logo on the back to red with a white "e" -- I think it will fit the overall Amsterdam color scheme better -- but leave it white with a red "e" on the front.

Very nice! Reminds me of my "GRD - Présipauté de Groland" bumper sticker.

A bit bigger than I'd like personally, though.

Hi,

It's not possible to aggregate & generate an estimate based on last year's demand? Conference t-shirts are almost always too big in the average (not enough S & M). I've learned to use proportions roughly like this:
  • 5% women, split roughly equally among S, M & L (for 300 t-shirts, 5xS, 5xM, 5xL)
  • 10% S (~30)
  • 20% M (~60)
  • 30% L (~90)
  • 25% XL (~75)
  • 10% XXL (~30)
If we think we'll have more women than this, or demand for one size disproportionate from these for some reason, you can always tweak.

I definitely prefer t-shirt decals with transparent background like last year. They last longer, and are nicer to wear in general, than t-shirts with a big vinyl patch.

Tim, could we have an example on a light t-shirt too, please? Given the choice, I would prefer a white/cream/off-white colour t-shirt to a black one. Of course, black will do if there's no choice

Cheers,
Dave.

But then what's the point asking people for preferred sizes in the registration?
