What has Ethnicity got to do with it? You've arrived at a strange conclusion there! Seems to be a common counter attack though now a days, and usually constitutes the core of a weak debate.

My observation was that most Geek types on these forums who appreciate this phone for what it is would never consider the one you mention because it is Philosophically untenable to them, myself included. I don't care how big it's screen is, how shiny it is, how many bells and whistles it has, WM marks it as a big steaming mess.

I would never go out in public and admit to wanting to use WM, but that's me and how I roll...

No one mentioned anything about 'Ethnicity'...ethnocentrism can mean more than one thing. In this case it's quite clear 'believing your way or thinking is correct and everyone else is wrong', because I mentioned something other than the N900, and you come back saying and I quote 'Man, you beat me to it! Anybody that wold consider buying a different phone should just Dew it! This one is obviously not for you. Windows Mobile, gag me with a freakin' Spoon!'.

Okay so that's your view, not mine, so because I'm looking at other phones, I shouldn't get the N900 because it's not for me??? You've clarified your comments now about your observation of why you said what you said, but at the time how was I or the other guy suppose to read your mind and know what you're thinking? It's done, it's over with, we should both move on...

I think we question your "research" etc and your decision to buy a phone based on the final conclusion because you basically said you were ready to dump the n900 simply in order to get the other phone sooner.

Now if you had said something like

"I think with this delay and with the fact that the HD2 meets the majority of my requirements I am going to go with it instead"

That would have garnered a better response. Your original post simply sounded like a spoilt kid saying "I am gonna take my ball and bat and go home, if I dont get immediate gratification."

Sorry just the way it came across to me,

And thank you for clarifying your thoughts, but logically I would assume anyone who is going to spend over $500 on an unlocked phone would do some kind of research otherwise how do you know if it correctly meets all of your needs? It's like my E90 and E71 ( although I did almost buy the E71 solely because of the steel back...it's seXy), if you look at the E90 and didn't know it has another screen and full keyboard or it's full capabilities you would probably think 'why do I want this brick because literally it's almost the size of one' but once you research what it has, can do, it's pure awesomeness--it's like buying a Chinese made clone for $800 solely because it look's 'nice'.

Anyways, I'm done with this argument, we've all made and clarified our points--there are more productive things we could be talking about.

How was it multi-tasking wise? If you played with YouTube did it stutter, if so how many windows were open? I want it bad...

for me, youtube played just fine, no stutterin or anything like that...had about 4 windows open. But one thing that i did not like was, at the same time (with 4 windows open) HULU was stuttering really bad...cud barely watch the video. I hope that Flash 10.1 will fix that issue...but other then that, I SIMPLY LOVED IT!

Which 4 applications did you have running. Just curious if they were heavy ones such as playing a movie, ovi maps, bounce games, etc.

I think I remember someone saying Hulu didn't play well at all, something to do with them having their site updated always to the newest flash or something.

Oh, oh wait. Did you play with the GPS? If so is their turn by turn navigation? I know this is one thing we all really wanna know.
