Have dl'd your user guide, but despite several searches still can't find the addon to unzip in file manager. Think my brain is struggling after researching and enabling devel repo

Baby steps, one thing at a time.

Would it be possible to have ticks next to selected programs or would this have the same problem. If not can you stop the programs you check info on becoming selected unless confirmed somehow.

Thanks for all your hard work, have voted on previous version, can't wait to see what you come up with next.
doh ! I think I might know why the programmes are 1hr out in the update but I need to get back home to confirm that
Ive changed the source of the UK channels from bleb.org to rytec.be since there were more channels being offered.
The latter site being in belgium might be the reason why ! Ill confirm that, and thanks very much to point that out.
If thats the case, Ill either patch to show time as (time-1hr) for region UK or I'll revert back to the old source.

I did enable the multi selection highlighting earlier and it really behaved funny, Ill see what can be done about it or if there is another way to show the selected programmes without clicking the Info button ( if thats what you meant ).

If all goes well Ill release an update today for the above programme timing for UK.
aside, did you try using the remote record ?

and finally thanks for trying/testing and voting.

Not tested remote record, not a fan of Sky.

To clarify my point about about the info button. What I meant is when I am looking through listings and I press the info button for synopsis it is selected by default and appears in my calender. I have found this does not happen if I press the clear button before returning to the listings.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. Another journey into devel, am I getting adventurous or stupid? Is this going to end in tears?

Then

  • For selecting favourite programmes, switch mode, select channel, and in the search drop down you will find your favourite programme list.
Follow the instructions in the user guide and it will be easy.
Thanks for this !!

I didn't see this in the user guide, now I'm all set to go !

Brilliant

The info button is different from the reminder button.
The reminder button exists between the channel and date pickers and only that should add to your N900 calendar.

The info should only be displaying details about the selected programmes.
Are you sure you pressed only the info button ?

OR by calendar if you meant it appears in your selection in the app and not the N900 calendar, then YES, thats how it works.
If you press the clear button in the programme details window it wipes your currently selected programmes but keeps your selected channels .
If you press clear in the main listings window it clears all(programmes+channels). Its all explained in the guide.

It is probably just me but I will try and detail what I am doing.

I start the application and select favourites/BBC1

I tap on a program and press the info button to open the program detail window to see if it interests me. If it doesn't I press the back button to return to the main listings page.

I select a program I want to be reminded of and press the reminder button.

Now when I check my calendar both programs are displayed.

The only way I have found to stop this is to delete the info in the program detail window before pressing the back button. This only works if I have not already selected any programs. I also understand you can deselect a program by tapping it a second time but without a visual notification this can be hit and miss. The only fool proof way to select multiple programs is not to click the info button,

edit; I have found out that if I use the down arrow to scroll through programmes then click the info button they are not selected.

Ok I'll try to sort out this confusion for you.
  • When you click a programme its selected. When you click it again its deselected.
Point taken, there is no visual indication as I removed the highlighting as mentioned earlier.
  • After you select programmes, when you click info all that it does is display the details of the selected programmes. There is a clear button in the programme detail window that you see after clicking info.
This clear button differs from the clear button on the main page in the fact that it will clear the selected programmes.
  • The clear button on the main window, however , clears all selected programmes and all selected channels as well and everything thats in memory, so basically you start as though you started the app fresh.

So, what you need to do in your example is,

if you selected some programmes P1, P2 and then you go back to the channel listings
and then select P3 then the list of selected programmes will be P1,P2 and P3.
So if you dont want P1,P2 you can click on P1 P2 again(to deselect them) or before selecting P3, on the programme detail window, hit clear, that will clear P1,P2 and then hit back to return to the channel list and then select P3.
Hope thats clear .

P.S , I will try to show some visual indication of the selected programmes in the main channel listings window that should make it easier for you I understand.

cheers.
