Some of you might recognize the keyboard from your fruit products. The Send button should actually be a Return button for multi-line texting, but I lifted the wrong snapshot.
Now for the more painful part: Going back and forth between landscape and portrait.

This comes from the same guy that understands it will never be available? Btw, there are laptops that fit in one hand and in a jacket pocket, yes there are laptops using 3G chips AND can send txt msgs, just because yours doesn't, means that none do, I don't see the point. My point was that this is NOT a phone. It's an Internet Tablet *capable* of making calls. If you wanted to text vertically, maybe you should've got a cellphone. I don't care how many people whine about this lack of feature, those people represent the minority. The way I see it, the N900 was never meant to be able to send a quick txt msg. Perhaps you should save a couple of pre-written sms template, or wait until you can use both hands to type. If urgent then make a call instead.

Did I say painful? I'm not sure that quite describes it. It's rotating, but I'm done for now. I'm parenting for the next week. After that, I'll clean up and post.

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. Are you talking about programming or do you just want to know how to get your name and Avatar into your Conversations? The latter is done through Contacts: Go to the "My information" menu item and edit your name. For the Avatar, keep clicking on the image area until you get to the image selection/browse dialog.
If you were talking about programming, hold tight, I'll be posting information here as soon as I can, but I have to finish my taxes, and I also go into parenting mode today. But I do have good stuff to share, and I'm trying to get it out no later than Friday. The last week has been very educational, and I was surprised that I made as much progress as I did. Stay tuned.
