Hello Taixzo, It'd be better if you can update the first post with a changelog(or a list of features currently working/planned)
Thank you.

Both packages are installed and already the newest version.

So, I've been doing a few tests to see if I could get this running on the N9.

No luck. I keep getting stuck on Python-Gobject. It is missing dependencies, it says it needs 2.6 but the system version is 2.6.6.

So, a whole bunch of stuff I don't understand because I'm not a developer.

I used Inception to install most packages, and simply searched for all the dependencies as they were missing, but I got stuck at this point.

If someone knows better than me, and thinks there is a replacement python-gobject package or a work-around, this may be close to all that's missing.

Not sure until I can get around it.

Headset Wired/BT control for Saera!
I started the a thread to get people with dev skills to help with the headset interface, IMHO a vitally important part of making Saera most useful. There were some useful replies which I hope can help http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84827

There is also the documentation by the now long gone Qwerty12 on using the wired headset to control or run scripts http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=21182

I alsocame across this thread that is about accessing D-bus witha relevant quote "so you don't need send dbus signals with dbus code, else you can run a dbus command with os.popen or os.command."
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84827

I wish I had the requisite skills to build the headset functionality for Saera myself but there is enough interest to get something working by the time Saera hits the repos. I only wish I had the coding skills to do more than facilitate headset functionality.

I get the following error when run under root i.e. Sudo gainroot
/home/user # python saera.py
saera.py:186: SyntaxWarning: name 'able_to_listen' is used prior to global declaration
global able_to_listen
process 3305: arguments to dbus_connection_get_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5757.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
process 3305: arguments to dbus_connection_set_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5721.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
Aborted
