Bollocks.. i want a qwerty keyboard on any new device.. the one i saw had one, and that'll do me.. if i wanted a phone with a great screen and was prepared to suffer with Android, i would have already gone for the Xperia Arc.. which hardware-wise, is probably the most advanced phone on the market at the moment.

An N9 without qwerty is pointless.. imho

Look at E7 and N8. Which one sold more ? We Nokians want it to succeed. Consumers want more streamlined device.

Geeks = Niche , sad but this is how it is.

/pardon my english
The n8 just sold more because of the camera it was out longer and cheaper. If the e7 and n8 would have came out at the same time with the same camera on it the e7 would have sold more units. To me the e7 is the better looking phone.

Thanks for the info. And i understand that the kbless version might be significantly better. But just give people on option. They'd be surprised how many people would be interested in buying it even with outdated specs..

these will be OUTSIDE a developer environment. The devs given them are not only going to be using them cooped up in a studio, lot are normal hobbyist developers who will use them in real world.

Well average users disagree. This is a COMMERCIAL device. There need to be sales.

eg : How many Android devices are there with a qwerty ? HTC Desire Z and one model by Samsung , i think ? Normal users don't really care about the hardware keyboard.

is there one person reading this thread who doesn't want the keyboard?

I suggest go try a real life E7 before answering.

clarification: wants no keyboard, not doesn't care about the keyboard

Moto Droid/Milestone too.

It's just the fact that touchscreen slates attract the mainstream crowd.

Yes.

But this discussion is pointless. It doesn't and any amount of cribbing is not going to bring a QWERTY to the commercial phone.

I am looking for a N800 NIT replacement, so no, I don't want a keyboard. The only way I would use the phone feature is if I could use it on the Verizon plan.
