The thing that worries me is the talk that Nokia might choose not to repair/replace the device if there is sign of damage on the device.

I filed off my USB plugs before I ever inserted them, and I try to look after my N900, but it does have a few scuff marks. I have never yanked the USB lead out, or dropped it while the USB lead is plugged in, so these scuff marks are nothing to do with USB, but I worry that if I have a USB port problem in the future, Nokia might think the marks are something to do with that.

Don't forget to tell them about the stuck CAPS LOCK KEY.

Sorry to hear dude, your the first Aussie I know of to have this happen. I did this a few months after I got the device to try and avoid this problem. I am in Adelaide so the only place I know of that may fix it in this state is http://www.digimob.com.au/. Good luck

I don't know if anything can be done with the current one. Might require a fresh start, but I don't know if we would get good representation at this point...

Ok so we have more than one casualty down here.. I am surprised Nokia Care actually took it on here since it's a US model. Are you paying to have it fixed by them? If so how much did they quote?

So why didn't you guys just make a warranty claim with Nokia USA? Post it back to them, and if needed use the same forwarder you used when buying it in the first place.

Hi guys, I have just received my n900 and the action of inserting/removing the charger from the port seems really stiff, just wondering if the general consensus is to file off the metal teeth of the charger?

Thanks,

Graham
