The Vimeo native app on the N9 hasn't worked for me for a year or more for playback. It has still searched and browsed though, just to tease me. At least I'd still been able to view the movies I found on cuteTube. But like you, not anymore. I'm pretty sure this was working on this version of cuteTube2 just a few days ago.

As to YouTube, I ran cuteTube2 from terminal and got the following single line of output when trying to play a video that didn't work:

Code:
Error: "SSL support not available"
So it looks like YouTube pulled a Flickr on me. I guess this could be region dependent, so it doesn't affect everyone . . . I'm trying to play from the US, BTW.

Here's a video that definitely doesn't work for me in cuteTube2:

Skipper Dan

I can play it on my PC (Kubuntu 14.04, Chromium browser).

This isn't English but I will answer it anyway...
It's currently in Extras-Devel, normal Extras-Devel caveats apply here.

RE: Vimeo

Vimeo recently started redirecting to https when retrieving the player page. This issue was fixed here: https://github.com/marxoft/qvimeo/co...c6062a1ff56d65, but the fix is not working in Harmattan for some reason, so I haven't updated the N9 version yet. Vimeo playback should be working in the N900 version.

RE: YouTube

Google seem to be forcing SSL for certain videos (VEVO and such). They have done this before, then reverted back to allowing non-encrypted streaming, so they may revert back again. If they don't, there is not much that can easily be done for the cuteTube player, since the backend does not support SSL (hence the error message).

hmm, why is that, doesn't it use Qt (QWebView, QNetworkAccessManager, ...) libs to connect to youtube? Could you point me (on github) to the backend code that does not support SSL?

EDIT:
BTW latest cutetube2 is crashing on me:

Code:
 $ /opt/cutetube2/bin/cutetube2
QNetworkReplyImpl::_q_startOperation was called more than once
QMutex::lock: mutex lock failure: Invalid argument
QMutex::lock: mutex unlock failure: Invalid argument
 Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Using cutetube2 v0.2.4, I've noticed that in some cases the dates reported for videos are incorrect, e.g. it lists Northernlion's three latest Isaac episodes (572-574) as "21 jun 2015" -- see the attached screenshot -- when in fact they were published today/yesterday. This happens on Northernlion's channel, but strangely enough not (currently) on channels such as Totalhalibut and Jesse Cox. The videos themselves play just fine though. So, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the new API or what is going on.

FYI, the issue has been around for a number of cutetube2 builds, if not since the initial release. Anyhow, awesome work so far on cutetube2 :-)
