sorry but I have come to the understanding that you need to root the device to get CLI, but this might be old outdated information.

Please tell me if it is, I sell cellphones as a partime job :P But I dont have in dept knowledge of Android, but ive used Linux since I was 14

android adb works even without root (aslong as usb debug is enabled) it just wont allow you to remount the rootfs as rw or edit the base files(obviously)

zImage-4 & froyo.tar.bz2 = not working wifi, rebooted few times, stuck at getting IP, my fault or ?

My WiFi was working with the first buggy FroYo build actually. I'll try the new one now.
