I have 2 devices working with kp48 with only your patches missing, camera works ok. And this does not look like kernel issue, looks like gstreamer related.

So, how you can explain even I reinstall original kp48, then the camera resurrect ?

Edit :

I mean, if I install my latest build (v48 + all the changelog), then no more camera.

FIXED !!!

Atop kernel patches removed, there are the ones causing camera not working ...

Download from here :

This power-kernel contain the ramzswap.ko module directly, no more need to compile yourself under scratchbox or me to provide as external module ...

Changelog :

Latests commits by Pali before he have school obligations (see post #) :

Commits '7ab052e2cf27b79aa8eea32b62f8cde752a87373' & '55fc617b021546d885dc413e15d99690488b3906' :

  • Enable patch board-rx51-peripherals.diff again, need for I2C_BOARD_INFO bq27x00_battery module. Now disable autoloading bq27x00_battery module by blacklist. Rename blacklist file to kernel-power.blacklist.

  • Support for binding and unbinding console drivers (CONFIG_VT_HW_CONSOLE_BINDING=y).

New changes by myself :

  • Applied 'patch_swap_notify_core_support_2_2.6.28.diff' patch from freemangordon as requested by himself on post #.

  • Applied 'update_mmu_cache_arm.diff' patch from freemangordon as requested by himself on post #.

  • Applied 'fmtx_lock_power.diff' patch from freemangordon as requested by himself on post #.

  • Backported kernel module 'ramzswap' integration for 2.6.28 to build it inline during kernel compilation as requested by freemangordon in this post #.

You can get two patches needed for compcache from here

and if you make compcache sources (from the same post) to be part of the kernel (as a patch) I will owe you a beer.

BTW compcache is called ramzswap at kernel.org, will be good to follow naming conventions from there.
Done !!!

A++

PS : freemangordon, can you please test it and repport if it work ?

@colin.stephane - would you please increase fmtx power in event.d script back to 120. Sorry for that, I know I insist it to be reduced, but it will cause problems to users not knowing what has happened with their transmitters. 10x

EDIT: I like your marketing style

For me, the reboots you suffer, doesn't seem coming from the build I made ...

On my side, no reboot since I installed it :

Code:
-bash-2.05b$ uptime
 12:02:37 up 9:08, 0 users, load average: 0.39, 0.64, 0.56
-bash-2.05b$
and this morning, I have used the camera to get a video of 20 minutes durring the 'visiting school day' of my child ...

On my side, I must say I do not use ramzswap, even if it was availaible inside my kernel modules builds, so maybe the problem come from here ...

Anyhow, here is my parameters :

Code:
-bash-2.05b$ kernel-config show
current kernel configuration:
current frequency: 805
supported frequencies: 125 250 500 550 600 700 750 805 850 900 950 1000 1100 1150
min. frequency: 125
max. frequency: 805
avoid frequencies: 125
active frequencies: 0:30,90 250:38,180 500:48,360 550:54,400 600:60,430 700:60,430 750:60,430 805:60,430 850:60,500 900:60,500 950:60,500 1000:60,500 1100:72,520 1150:72,520
SmartReflex VDD1=1, VDD2=1
governor ondemand: ignore nice load= 0, up threshold= 70, sampling rate= 300000, powersave bias= 20
-bash-2.05b$
I'm waiting for more feedback from users, also parameters like 'SmartReflex VDD1=1, VDD2=1' tend to random reboot the device at differents maximum cpu speed, for diffeerents N900.

For example you can see my max cpu speed set to 805, my device can be overclocked higher only if I dont activate SmartReflex.

@freemangordon, I think everyone can live few more days without "save as" Ho ever, if it's bug in library + in dspbridge, is it possible to fix also the latter?

@colin.stephane, can You please request co-maintainership of kp, together with freemangordon? It's understandable by all, that Pali is obliged, but You two guys are active on kp patching field, so I see no reasons, why it all should wait for Pali's return. After all, no one is taking maintainership away from Him.

Also, maybe, by any chance, kp 47 will land in testing... ;P

the first kernel you have uploaded doesn't accept the injection drivers
does this one accept them ?

and does powesave_bias makes different?

Sorry, I didn't show my config.
Smartreflex VDD1 and 2 = 1, ramzswap disk size 64MB, limits 500-750 (when unlocked) and 250-600 (when locked) on the voltages in my signature.

It's long time now I do not tweak kernel-power parameters (the last time was 21 May 2011).

I don't remember right now why I have choosed to set 'powesave_bias' parameter to 20, but for sure I set it like that after googling the subject, testing somes values and finally leaving the one I feeling the best ...

Since I don't play with injection driver, I cannot say my latest build accept or not this one, but I have removed 'atop' kernel patch causing many troubles (camera was no more usable with these 2 previous patches...).

Also, dpkg -i kernel-power-packages steps are more easy than dpkg-buildpackage ... I think it's better to check it by yourself, and come back here to report.

Hope it help ...
