Anyone have this problem? navicore can't connect to the N810's GPS when it is ran as root, but it connects just fine when ran as user.

probably your system clock has drifted too far from the very accurate gps clock.

can some one give clear cut instructions to crack wayfinder. I have a new n810 and i guess there is a hack when you use your original trail for the first time. Thanks

FWIW: everything I know is already shared in this thread. You should be able to get it working with this information. I'm not going to make packages or provide further support. Although it shouldn't be too difficult to make a .deb for libfaketime, libmacspoof, the shell script, and a binary patch for /usr/libexec/navicore-navigator.

i agree...we need a concise... step by step method of the current way to make the new version work. hell, im still using the old version of map and just using macchanger every 7 days.

Well, like I said, there are 4 elements: libfaketime, libmacspoof, shell script, hexeditted navicore-navigator. Instead of libmacspoof one can use macchanger.
The howto I posted a few pages back works although I don't know how long libfaketime will keep functioning. I'm benchmarking that right now.
Macchanger changes the MAC address system wide (and some APs don't like this). Libmacspoof only changes it for the application you want it to.
A hexeditted navicore-navigator is required for libmacspoof. You won't even need a hexeditor BTW. Opening it in nano and replacing the specific string does the work too. In Nano, use ^W to search for wlan and use a path with the same characters (see my earlier example).
Finally, you have a shell script which simply sets the variables and starts the application.
