I was getting the same url error with the saved files in the local videos folder too. How is the url used for saved videos?

I thought I had buggered it and spent last night and this morning troubleshooting, reflashing, restoring and groaning.

Marcelo,

Youtube now offers higher res. videos with a slightly different url.

Would it be possible to add an option to the YouTube Plugin, so that if we wished to (and were on a fast enough connection), we'd get to watch/download the high res version instead?

Thanks

@everyone : yes, youtube indeed did that.

@High-res videos : we will update the api, so it will probably have this option, but bare in mind that if it's barely playable today.. I don't believe a higher resolution will play fine in embedded mode. Anyways you can always download and try to launch via mplayer.

We will take a look at this asap. If possible we will release an update on tuesday (monday is a national holiday) :/

sorry for this delay!

Marcelo

@handful First of all thanks for great program. Whilst you are fixing the current youtube plugin issue, may I ask for an item to be added to your list of futue enhanements? Would it be possible to have the opption of playing the videos original aspect ratio? This will help with 4:3 format viewing.

Many thanks

HI bahbah12 :

As we always say it's a good strategy to do a smalls search before posting (this is not rude at all just spreading forum's guidelines around )

This issue has been discussed a lot :

The strecth is also due to some bug in the Mplayer embedded mode. We did a patch (fix) for the mplayer, that is already available in the preview of the next version, that also improves a lot the playback on embedded mode. So not only Canola will be with original aspect ratio but any other player that uses mplayer embedded mode.

There was an way to do it now, but it would be a real hack (opening mplayer, getting the aspect, closing it, opening again) and we like to fix the thing not hack it

My YouTube plugin stop playing videos..

´Unable resolve video URL, Check your connection´ (Or something like that..)

It does list/find videos ok, it just doesnt play them and gives that error. And ofcourse internet connection works.

I have still Beta7. There is a threat about Beta8 problems so I didnt update.. And it did work ok before..

Now what to do..

Looks like others have same problem too.. It did work (for me) earlyer today.. and then stop working..
