tried again... message appeared :-/

is any chance to get the feature I'm looking for? - voice recording for notification?
this means - I create event then tap here red circle and device starts record voice note, then I tap grey square, recording stops - when event appeares, device first signals by builtin sound then plays my recording (repeats it if I set)

of only it can recognize voice "stop" command to cancel playing - it could be GREAT

Thanks for the report. Just to clarify... did you close the app (hitting the X in corner of window) while waiting for the alarm? Or was the app still running, or just minimized?

I think I have seen some issues related to waking up for an alarm on my device, but at a much lower frequency than you are seeing. So far I haven't been able to reproduce it for myself (running 2.2007.51-3). I believe there is an open bug report against alarmd but it doesn't match what you observed.

I added the bug report and voice alarm idea to my todo list, which will eventually get pushed to my website. Though the devil is always in the details, the voice alarm feature is not that outlandish. Getting good recognition for a "stop" command could be difficult for various reasons, starting with the fact that it would need to ignore the voice it is playing out the speakers. Either way, I think these are lower priority than getting the basics working rock solid and adding some more "humdrum" traditional features.

I completely closed app by X

sure it was daemon's fault

later I started prog and saw event in Agenda list - it was single event which didn't notify me

will try more and report if something like this will happen

what about voice - recognition of "stop" command is quite difficult issue, I see...

but simple recording of voice notification and extending obvious alarm can be great too

the reason is - not always I can tap or enter notification on the keyboard or screen, this takes more time than just voice memo

I would be glad if somebody add this in todo list for this program or another...

I've had a couple cases of clicking on the calend icon and the message box saying it's starting, but then it doesn't start. I suspect that may be the root cause of some of the alarming issues, and the fact that you closed the app and missed the alarm supports that theory. So thanks for confirming what happened.

I agree the voice recording idea may not be that difficult to implement, and if it were there I would probably use it too.

if you will do so - please take an attention on user's interface

I think it must be as simple for user as possible - if one starts recording, then stop automatically saves voice memo, no any conformation or file dialogs (auto file names assign)

in Agenda it must look as any other event - and deleting event must delete voice memo file

in settings must be choice of place for voice memo files - they are large enough and I'd prefer store them on large external SD card

.....back to our malfunction

right now I created another one event and set it repeated - I see alarm icon appeared at applet's tray

when I tap on this icon - I see "signals" dialog" but it is empty (no signals) - is that right?

looks like program doesn't properly work with 24h system - in Agenda it shows event for 09:00, but I set it for 21:00 - may be this is a reason of faults

Agree... that sounds like how I would want it to work too. Though I don't want to mislead you that I will be able to work on that feature anytime soon.

I see a similar behavior. This might be a bug in the alarm applet or something strange about how calend sets its alarms. I haven't confirmed that this is anything more than a display issue. I don't think this issue is on the list though, so I will add it. I found that alarm icon distracting and disabled it in Settings->Control Panel->Panels.

This issue is on the todo list. It's possible it is causing some other problems, but I think it is "only" a display problem. Though certainly an annoying one for 24-hour clock users.

khm... at 00:00:00 Calend frontend started automatically... device was near me and I noticed specific hissing when application starts - I see Calend working

I didn't assign event to 00:00

Yes... it does alarm housekeeping and pushes the next day's todo's to the to_do app at midnight local time. It's on the list to do a better job of hiding itself when it does that.

Hmmm... when I start any app I hear some little noises... I think they indicate a window is opening. Does it sound different from that?
