- I agree, headphone connector and charging connectors are not in convenient places when using the keyboard.
- Keyboard should have numbers separately, but N900 is too good for me to make that a big issue.
- battery life is a big one, but well, you have to work around current technology limitations.
- video player used to play all video formats with no issues, and then they issued the first update for n900. video flexibility - gone. I then had to download ugly Kmplayer.
- oh, a biggie!! When I receive a call, screen is unlocked, and often when I try to take it out of my jeans pocket, the end button gets pressed in the process. A light zero latency 'slide to unlock' program would be nice. Why does a company like Apple that's relatively new to the cellphone game hit it once and get it so right, and companies like Nokia who've been around for decades, still don't?
- And why are my stereo speakers much softer than a blackberry mono speaker?

@loggie, nothing wrong with stating ideas and improvements for future designs. Whoever the stupid guys are that are paid a 100,000 bucks a year to come up with these designs, should pay attention, and try the products in hand.

I've not read the entire thread; so if this has been said, forgive me...

but I hate the fact that I cannot just rollup into any store as I please and find one, get my hands on one... I almost hate buying anything blindly.

im fine with the placement of the micro usb and audio jack. if they put it on the top i'd be awkwark to hold in landscape mode. if thet put it in the bottom you wouldn't be able to use the kick stand..

The only problem i have with the n900 is the 256 ram. i wish it had 512. it makes it lag alittle when i play music and multitask. but its no huge issue.

the other issues is on the software end, but i expect that to improve either by all the hard working developers in the community or from meego

I HATE the fact that the n900's PIM is bordering on pathetic. and there is still no task descriptions

I hate the fact that mine is in for USB port repair and i hae been forced to use my N95 for a week

I loved my N95 but after 2 months with the N900 it seems woefully inadequate and light years behind my N900.

Come back soon N900 all is forgiven

1) Phone
- Oscillating volume in calls
- No Voice Dialing
- Bugs in Call History (If you select a missed call and call the number, missed call cannot be seen in call history)

2) Apps
- Lousy Ovi
- Less Apps outside DEVEL & Testing (Android has more apps)
- Too many repetitive apps (for example I saw atleast 4 voice recorders)
- FM radio signal reception strength is weak (could be hardware)
- No robust photo processing app
- Bad testing framework

3) Maps
- No Ovi Navigation
- No clue of where Sygic Nav is

4) Others
- Voice Aid
- Voice commands
- Speech to Text & Vice versa
- Good e-book reader

I am sure there will be more... I am also sure that some of the N900 users / developers will have other opinions..

Thx,
V

These are the things I hate about N900:

1. Weak portrait mode.
2. No standardization in shortcuts/widget/bookmarks icons size.
3. Shortcut icons cannot 'lock into grid' and overlap.
4. Weak FM radio app
5. Weak multimedia player
6. Crazy volume +/- buttons - never know which is the + or - from phone calls to watch video!!!!
7. Screen lock could have been replaced with software instead of a mechanical slider that is prone to breakage.
8.Slow support for popular networking apps (e.g. custom Facebook app)
9. Weak GUI layout. E.g. calendar - many unwanted borders. Could have made the fonts bigger. Caller photo id could be bigger to make use of the hi-rez screen.
10. Wrong priority to place apostrophe on on-screen keyboard. Period and comma is more commonly used.
11. Weak Ovi map.
12. Lacks Apple integration.
13. GUI for entering lock code could be bigger to maximize the screen.
14. No option to sort apps into owner's specific category. 4 desktop is not enough for sorting apps and favourite numbers.
15. SMS cannot be imported into Calendar.
16. Weak touch screen sensitivity resulting in using nails and thus scratching of screen.
17. The fact that it's a physically sexy phone for geeks and totally disregards to mass Nokia supporters is a let-down.

I burnt my N97 cos it had crappy and buggy softwares. Then came along this promising N900. 3 months later, the conclusion is....it's just another reincarnation of N97, in another form of inadequacy through slow software support and poor GUI.

I'll still holding on to N900 until Apple has sorted out Java and multitasking in iPhone 4. Nokia, please buck up and thinking you are the best.
