The facts are these: PR1.2 SDK has existed since March and has had no serious bugs. So what for havenīt we had it on our devices really makes you think if Nokia releases everything the instant something is ready for release.
The tactical side is this: Maemo 5 is dying. The successor Meego was released.
They are making quick progress with it (remember Day One?) which means something sucks the resources from Maemo. That is all.
It is good that you responded, I did not say clearly enough that my comments were mainly speculation.

Thanks for the reply!
Remember the error we had when you powered the Device, the output power of the transmitter would go to hell? Has that been fixed?

An SDK is not the same as an OS ready for release. And I'm certain Nokia would like to please everyone by pushing PR1.2 out as soon as possible. They're under tremendous pressure right now to do so. I'm also certain they're very aware of the possible horrible consequences of pushing out PR1.2 before it's ready. IOW, better safe than sorry.
All OSs are dying even before they're released. You think Apple doesn't already have the replacement for the iPhone 4G OS in the works? Only a development version of MeeeGo has been released. It's released because unlike Windows or OS-X or even Android, MeeGo is a true open-source project so early development work is out there for all to see instead of behind guarded doors.
Somewhat, no doubt. But Nokia and Intel have stated - and given their size it's reasonable to believe them - that they have sufficient resources to work on more than one project at a time. I've seen no reason yet to doubt Nokia's stated commitment to N900 owners that the N900/Maemo will not be soon forgotten. Nokia has stated several times that full support for Maemo 5 will continue for a quite a while, exactly how long is unknown. But it's only reasonable that at some point support will end.
Understood, and no offense was intended. But everyone posting here - or really anywhere on the 'net - should be careful what they say. Your 'speculation' was stated as if facts, and people believe what they see.
I suppose I'm kinda making an example outta you here - but hey, I guess it's just your lucky day...
