minor bug:

situation: a dish is set on start and another dish or just a time is set from the dropdown menu. when adjusting that time to zero it shows that dish set on start instead of "choose dish".

I like to stick to the principle: green = countdown, orange = pause and yellow = stopwatch. What I changed, is that a small alarm icon is shown next to the remaining time if the stopwatch function is activated.

You can't activate the "testing mode" earlier, as the buttons are disabled at start (you can set it when the time remaining color is red). As I like the disabled effect, I leave that as it is.

2. when pausing in testing mode a leading sign would be useful. i suggest a negative sign when countdown is paused (that would be the amount of time you have to subtract) and a positive sign when stopwatch is paused.
Added

3. switching stopwatch on/off can be disabled when the stopwatch is already running.
That was known to me. It should be clear is has no function, as we are already past the point of stopwatch activation. But it is now disabled in this situation.

Good spot. It was introduced with, and only noticeable with preloaded dishes. Fixed.

And version 0.0.4-10 uploaded to extras-devel

that indicator should be visible even when the stopwatch starts although it isn't a necessary information anymore. as the counting process (countdown and stopwatch) is one event and the mode didn't change one may wonder why it isn't shown anymore.

Added
1. bug: unpausing/pausing quickly leads to multiple signs.
2. request: open a dialog "set time for <dish>: yes/no" by double press on the orange time counter bar in testing mode.

edit: The banner label might be changed then into "adjusting mode (de)activated".

edit2: i'm not sure anymore. That humble small bell is an unobtrusive reminder. The stopwatch looks good without it. It might be clear that yellow means enabled adjusting. who knows? I'm excited - i've got those timers for cooking and this and that. It helps organizing.

Well I have not "played" with cooktimer for sometime (only used my default pizza setting) I am just getting the hang of the stopwatch mode. Very good work BTW, cooktimer's becoming very versatile.

I know it's possibly pushing cooktimer out of scope a bit but it could be handy to use a stopwatch for some recipes.
Therefore would it be possible to long press a button to start stopwatch mode from 00:00:00?
Another useful idea I had was an option for a global adjustable "beep" every 'x' seconds each stopwatch counts.

How about long pressing the start button starts the countdown and activates a stopwatch in addition?

My idea is confirming that dialog leads you to the "edit dishes" config screen with the actual time of the respective dish readjusted. So one can round down if desired. And when just a time was counting down a new dish with the actual time adjusted is created.

bug:

- create a dish with a short period of time (10 sec) for testing perposes
- set it on start
- restart cooktimer
- start that countdown and activate testing mode
- wait 20 sec (or 2 times your adjusted period of time)

-> an alarm banner is shown

I think I have come here to report the same thing.
If you set a timer and switch on stopwatch mode, after the alarms have triggered and you are now in stopwatch mode the alarms ring again at the same periods.

I hope that makes sense.

1. bug: unpausing/pausing quickly leads to multiple signs.
This behaviour occours in the second and third timer. The first timer deletes the leading sign immediatly after unpausing, the others don't.

It could be done when cooktimer would only deactivate the start button if no dish is chosen and automatically activate the stopwatch for a dish when its time is set to zero.

edit: let me start from scratch please.

One possibility is to activate the start button when selecting a dish whose time was set to zero and furthermore automatically activate the stopwatch function for such dishes.

Forgot to add some code to the second and third timer. Now I did.

bug:
- create a dish with a short period of time (10 sec) for testing perposes
- set it on start
- restart cooktimer
- start that countdown and activate testing mode
- wait 20 sec (or 2 times your adjusted period of time)

Did not notice that as I use no startup dishes. Corrected.

Request: open a dialog "set time for <dish>: yes/no" by double press on the orange time counter bar in testing mode.
Too lazy for a few clicks ? Could very well be too much work for something I won't use. If it looks like a simple addition: maybe later.

The banner label might be changed then into "adjusting mode (de)activated".
Stopwatch mode, testing mode, adjusting mode .... from now on I will refer to "Continue mode"

My intention was to not go that way. But as we already went in that direction a bit and did not effect the original cooktimer look and feel: why not?
Long pressing the time picker button (the middle button) will now switch to stopwatch mode.

Another useful idea I had was an option for a global adjustable "beep" every 'x' seconds each stopwatch counts.
I can't really imagine a purpose for that myself. Just maybe in a later release, who knows...

With all this "hidden" long-press features, I also decided to add an help page to explain them globally.

Verions 0.0.4-11 in the repo.
