The guys from sailfishOS-porters fixed the GPS issue in 2.1.1.x builds, so i can present you the fixed package. Just download the rpm and install it. GPS should be working again.

Good job Mautz, without you our Nexus 5 would be outdated! I've just tried for some minutes the new version because I'm still on 2.0.4 for Alien Dalvik. I've seen that the camera app improved, but without video recording is not so an improvement

I have the problem that my N5 cant find any wifi network. Anyone else with that problem or ideas what I can try?
Maybe related to the kernel I'm running? (I'm using multirom which AFAIK needs a kexec-available Kernel. What is the recommended one?)

Only the first rom installed must have the kexec option in the kernel when using multirom.. Which SFOS version are you running? Does wifi work in android?

Thanks for your response.

I'm using " 2.1.1.26 build 02" on top of the CM13 image that you provided in the first post. Yes wifi is working fine under android.

I just installed image 2.1.1.26-build-0.2 and wifi is working as expected. Maybe you could try to reinstall the image?

Hello !
First, big thanks for mautz.
Thanks for your work !
This is amazing !
I just installed sailfish on my Nexus 5, and the result is really good !
I hope I will help you to continue to improve this port !
I have also a Jolla phone 1, So I can compare behavior between them

I just installed the build 0.2

First bugs:
  • BT calls (really really bad) [0.1 confirmed]
  • GPS: sync pretty quick less than 30s [0.2 no issue]
  • Video recording: Camera freezing: [0.2 confirmed]
  • 4G/3G: Working BUT I have only IPV6 address, NO ipv4 address so the USB therering can not work: [0.2 confirmed] => My carrier remove ipv4 support.... So the tethering needs to be improved ...
  • Connection icon: sometimes, I see the LTE connection logo blinking instead of the wifi plugin. Is it an issue ?
  • Phone Case: I use a case for the Nexus5, because of it, it's really hard to use right/left wipe :/ Can I set the swipe border size ?

Bug Fixes:

In my case, the main issue is the IPv6 bug. So, I know well linux (living/working with it for 10 years) but I don't know where I have to start looking for. Could you help me with that ?
Also, I really want BT calls, so I will try to get it after.

Again thanks for your work

My feedback regarding the latest image
  1. Updating apps from store does not work.
  2. Bad battery life. Can we flash kernel v9 or do they do not work anymore?
  3. Dbus command to hold Sailfishos mobile connectivity to 3G/UMTS does not survive reboots.

@titilambert

Wifi tethering never worked on the Nexus5, only USB tethering.

@BluesLee Kernel has except for one patch which is related to cGroups not changed. So the battery drain must have another cause. Kernel v9 can not be flashed, custom kernel will be out next week.
You could activate the rc.local service and put the dbus command in there.

Usb tethering is not working neither because of the ipv6 from my carrier (Rogers/Fido Canada). Do you have any tricks for that ?

Thanks !
