I'm new with this phone and i would like have that scummvm to my n900, but after i have downloaded it from: http://www.tuug.fi/~toni/serendipity...Fremantle.html, and trying to install, it just says open file scummvm_1.0.0~rc1-fremantle2_armel.deb choosing application from the directory... So how can i install the file?

Should it be installed trough the X Terminal?

It's a very old version... 1.0.4 is in Extras-Devel OR can be downloaded here...

And yes it can be installed in X-terminal... Look here...

Be carefull when downloading from *unknown* sources (same applies on ANY Operating System!!!)...

I'm also having problems running "Day of the Tentacle". It seems to crash when moving from room to room or when significant actions are performed. It doesn't always happen in the same place so I'm managing to progess by saving frequently. Also, after a crash I have to do a "kill -9" to get rid of the process. Is there anyway to create debug trace file?

You can run /usr/games/scummvm from x terminal to see its output when it crashes.

Also it might be good idea to try the same game+same saved game with regular windows/mac/linux build on your PC and see if it crashes too. If not then it is maemo specific (my maemo specific source code, compiler bug, Maemo platform bug). If it crashes too then it is for ScummVM bug tracker. Saved games should be transferable between systems.

@fanoush, would you still like to have an external right button/whatever button handler with proximity sensor (or camera key)? For the right click, would you be happy with regular XTestFakeButtonEvent? I can do it with shortctud that is now in extras-devel.

@Blackangel85

Did you install rootsh?
Then you can sudo gainroot and dpkg -i to install the deb file.
Just do a search, there are guides out there.

It used to run fine on my N810 (before I lost it). I'll give it a try on a PC tommorrow.

Is it better (safer as I don't have to gain root) to install from extra-dev, then it is to download the .deb and install through the xterm?

Can anyone explain to me the benefits of using the xterm (if there are any) for a program downloadable through the app manager?

Thanks alot

You're better installing via the repository - that way it can pull in any dependencies automatically. The only advantage to using xterm is that you don't need to set up the repository.
