I pre-ordered an n810 from Amazon yesterday, today I received an email from them saying that they have confirmed shipping dates and I should expect it to be shipped between November 20-27. Looks like it will happen next week!

Does anyone have a nice sandy spot that I can bury my head in until it is released? This waiting is like being in the waiting office at the dentist. You know it is good for you, and you can't think about anything else, but you know there is pain and waiting right now.

Argh. Had I known Amazon would offer it right at launch time, I would not have pre-ordered from MCO (I have Amazon Prime two-day shipping). Oh well, wouldn't be fair to them to cancel. How fast does Nokia stock its resellers, does anyone know?

The API and SDK were released, not the OS itself.

Announcement topic may be missing the magic keyword "SDK" so that outsiders "get it", but maemo is the development environment (and yes, Chinook is available here). Internet OS 2008, that people here seem to be waiting for, is slightly different

Maybe the topic should say "OS2008 for N800 Release Date" instead.. And whenever that is remains unknown.

Btw I think Nokia is using the word "Release" to mean "Announcement" (such event will probably happen to N82 or whatever is the next big symbian/S60 multimedia computer).

Availability could be the word used for what we're after here.

What about that:

I opened the tableteer page with OS2007 microB and saw the following page (look at my attachment, red border). Are they serious? I thought that OS2008 for N800 will be released mid november!

Well, I'd sure be very disappointed by that. Supposed Nokia will release the N810 before December, which I hope. They promised the release of the OS2008 same time as N810 availability...

A friend of mine told me that as a beta-tester is almost sure for end of this week, but do not get these words as gold

Hang on guys. That information was recently qualified to explain that the OS2008 release for the N800 will come shortly after the N810 launch, not quite simultaneously. However, this is a delay of 1 to 2 weeks only.

Mid November runs from this past weekend to next weekend. December is not very far away from that.

I'd rather wait and have a stable, working OS than to rush it and have a bad experience. Good things are coming! They really are!
