some days, I feel like I might've grown up next door to the great-great-grandson of the guy that invented dirt. not old, but feeling it some days...

I turned 54 last week. I'm a senior programmer/analyst and program in C++, VB, Java, and COBAL. My first computer was a TRS80. In college I wrote a football game in APL on an IBM Selectric terminal (no video display). I wrote a game in Commodore 128 Basic that was published in Computes Gazette magazine. It would be awesome being a teenager now with all the hi tech toys available. We built and played with shortwave radios when I was 15.

I will turn to 0x20 on this Saturday.

first computer: Atari 65XE + tape, then s/tape/floppy drive. Then Amiga 600 (with hdd), 1200 (with hdds, cd, 68040, 64MB ram), PC (from Duron 600 to Core2Quad).

palmtops: palm m105 (sold) -> sony clie sj30 (sold) -> zaurus sl-5500 (donated for developer who works on 2.6 kernel for it) -> zaurus c760 (still have). Also have nokia 770 (got it free boxed), nokia n810, palmpilot 5000 (nostalgic value).

My first show was March 17, 1980. Roy Orbison opened for the Eagles.

I feel I'm the one of the youngest here... only 18. Although, here, in canada, I am considered as a major and don't really want to get any older

and still, my first computer:
386, 125mb hdd, windows 3.1 (I used DOS all the time), 16 mhz.

first pda: HP jornada (1999)

And it is cheaper, lighter and less consuming than an x86 laptop!
