Found one interesting issue: I had sent epage a PM about onering failing to connect.

I have setup OneRing as well as Gtalk in my VOIP and IM settings.
It seems that OneRing has connection problems if Gtalk connects before it.

If OneRing claims to have "Network connectivity" errors, then the workaround is to disable gtalk, sign in OneRing and then re-enable gtalk.

gtalk doesnt seem to mind that it comes in second.

I'm having similar issues: "Network Error" is displayed; it sometimes connects gracefully, but often (everytime?) I go from wifi - 3g or back, it starts to have problems.
Rebooting *sometimes* helps. Enabling/Disabling/offline/online availability etc seems to have no effect.
I disabled GChat, and did all of the above (including switching internet connection source) and it didnt seem to have any effect.

However. REBOOT w/ GChat disabled seem to make it sign in the past 3 times when there was connectivity/network error issues.

I also have SIP enabled (gizmo provider) & ovi.

So THAT's why I'm getting a network connectivity error. I second this bug.

Just to make it clear what I mean by contacts integrations:

I don't care about downloading any contacts I have stored on google's servers. I just want a button in my contact view for every person with a phone number that gives me the option to call them via google voice instead of directly (and another button for SMS).

Also, a pony.

VERY exciting. Can't wait for a more stable low-battery draining Maemo4 version so I can start trying it out!

PONIES!

Ever since I 'moved' Google Talk down in the priority list by signing out, disabling, reboot, and enabling, has worked through wifi/3G switches...Not sure if cause= effect; but this is the longest (~12 hours) I've gone w/o the Network Error.

I would like to see using TOR as the primary phone client; ie, it takes over any contacts #'s or dialpad #'s, etc. This would be the ideal situation for me; the syncing of the actual 'google' contacts is, for me, a wonderful work around for the ideal situation.

Epage, nice work. Keep it up.

As previously pointed out

Could someone file a bug on these network issues and post the link to it here. Then people who feel everything that has been said has been said vote on it. If you do have something to add please comment.

(Trying to be good and follow the bug reporting pattern Andre begs for when reporting bugs against Nokia stuff.)

I tried The One Ring to call my family - and it worked - though was a bit confusing at first.

Phone Part :
From phone app initiated dialer, seleced the Google Voice account and entered number as 7 digit code - it failed with error.

Had to add a 1 before it - 1+Area code+number
The call went thu to the contact in addressbook and a sec later got Disconnected.

Then my phone starts ringing. On receiving the call (number shown as my google voice number) I get connected to the caller and it works fine.

The first time - the disconnected message was confusing sonce I thought it didnt work - but actually the call goes thru correctly.

SMS Part :

On Conversations app - "New IM" doesnt list any contacts with regular phone numbers whom I can send an SMS too - only shows online contacts.

Instead I used the conversations munu at the top -> "send IM to" and then selected the Google voice account of mine and entered the phone number to send SMS to ...

Had to paste the phone number from the contact app as I cant pick a contact from the contacts app in this screen.

The SMS part worked fine in this way - in fact am corresponding to my sister in India (they have free SMS and I got free SMS thanks to Google Voice)

In spite of the workarounds a bit - its a great app - nicely integrated into the N900 communication protocols.
the way i got around this i sign for free account with https://www.nuevasync.com i set up my n900 phone update my whole address book and google will sync with google voice and it will show up on your contact ready to sms or call ..work for me.
