hope not. In fact I rather see MS buy some stocks. At least the have something to bring to the table.

But to be real. Don't think MS or finnish goverment will be buying. that % of the company.

Nokia's stock is over 10.00 today, around 10.14. I bought at 8.70 or so. So this mess might not be affecting it much.

But... let's see what Nokia World comes out with. That will be the deciding factor.

And I've set my stock to sell if it slides by 11%

nokia will present Q3 the 21 of oct. Since presentation of Q2 the stock have moved very little with a small increase of value.

During Q3 nokia launched n8 as a pretty advanced phone. But the launch come rather late and I'm not sure if N8 will give them any boost. Apple, Samsung, SE all launched new devices earlier in Q3. This must hit nokias sales a bit.

And still no N9. (not sure when E7 will hit the market but it will not affected Q3.

whats your take on Q3?

As far as the high end goes Q3 is not looking good. People who where going to buy high end Nokia phone have been waiting for N8 and that only sold a day in Q3 for selected markets.
I would expect rather strong sales from E5, X6, C6, E72 and C5.

Most importantly thought the future is looking good(Q4) and Nokia got strong lineup for it N8, C6-01, C7, C3 touch and type, X3 touch and type, E7(not too sure about it, but can not mention it), C5-03. So don't think the stock will come down much at least as long as there's no surprises(a'la NSN write-down 2009).
Q4 black horse is the N9 that if released early December will make the Q4 even better.

agree Also, I've not seen any profit warnings from Nokia for Q3 which must be a good thing.

Well, Nokia's guidance for Q3 was that it's going to roughly same as Q2. Don't really expect anything less nor more, and the stockprice is currently pretty much priced for it.

Q4 is going to be huge. Christmas + S^3 models (with big pre-order backlog due to delays) + truckloads of annual patent income from licensees.

Q3 is allready priced in, unless Nokia decides to do somekind of accounting-voodoo by squeezing in S^3 pre-orders to Q3 results. The key tomorrow will propably be what forward looking view Nokia gives to Q4 and especially to 2011. It's also going to Elop's first conference call. Any unexpectedly positive or negative future guidance from Nokia might swing the stock considerably.

Results at 13.00(Espoo)/14.00 Franfurt/15.00 on-line @ http://investors.nokia.com/phoenix.z...&p=irol-irhome
Live feed from conference call 2 hours later. (link from nokia.com investor)

As a side note, earlier this month, guy from finnish middle-class investment organization said roughly:"These are the stocks we inherited and sold to americans for 40-50€/piece. It's now time to buy them back 7€/piece. Then sell them back few years from now 40-50€." I'm kind of undecided, but doesn't sound like a bad plan. The price is low right now...

I've set up my stock to where if they drop by 11.5%, I'll sell all of my stock and still gain a profit from when I bought their stock.

To be honest, I rarely do that, but the massive amounts of departures, the Symbian main dude leaving... Nokia is looking vulnerable from an investors perspective for the short term and a bit harder to read in the long-term.

I took the symbian guy leaving as a sign that he was getting out before Nokia went all meego all the time
